Need to wrap this up pretty quick - 60 deficit is already a bit of a problem.

What has happened to Tom Latham? He was showing the patience and temperament of a genuine opener but recently he has been getting out to rash shots.

We is anyway. Still have the Nicholls and Taylor failures to work into this innings yet

CdG and Southee going for stupid swashes are clearly no longer counted as failures.

Yeah, let's dig in and score some runs - who cares if it takes all day to get 250 eh?

Ross Taylor - "Here, hold me beer mate"

Quote:
Shaheen Shah Afridi to Taylor, OUT, short, and he has taken the bait this time! What a good ball from Afridi, and Taylor's positivity is to no avail in the end. Was dug in outside off, and he went for the hook, and only found Bilal Asif down by the square leg fence, about 15 yards in from the fence. Easy catch, and good execution of a plan from Pakistan. New Zealand needed more from Ross Taylor here, it must be said
LRPL Taylor c Bilal Asif b Shaheen Shah Afridi 22 (14b 4x4 0x6) SR: 157.14

Nicholls liked the look of Taylor's innings and is doing his best to mimic him

Pakistan don't appeal for an lbw in the last over that a review would have given out.

Nicholls given out now but the review overturns it.

Good review.

This sucks. Again. I can't flick to the Aussie/India match anymore either.

And now Pakistan have lost their remaining review after an LBW review on Williamson.

Nicholls 50 followed by a ton for Williamson.

118 ahead with 6 wickets in hand.

I checked cricinfo this morning and the first update was Taylor getting out.

That was obviously my fault so I didn't check the score until now - well done Captain Kane and sidekick Nicholls. Really good focus and determination.

Seems like Pakistan got a bit rattled and started making some silly decisions.

Will NZ go for a quick 60-80 runs in the morning and try and bowl Pakistan out?! Or will they take the drawn series (which tbf - is a magnificent result against Pakistan in the UAE).

That is a surprise score.

Henry Nicholl is silencing some of the doubters this series.

Game not quite safe at the moment, would imagine they will bat for another hour before declaring and setting Pakistan a total. Then time to see how good the kiwi attack is on a turning pitch.

At least this will stop Kiwias from being so negative  (though I will congratulate his dedication to the Kiwi cricket gods if we pull this one off).

Went to bed with Kane on 89... wake-up to see Nicholls had bettered that! :o

Great stuff by these 2 - just a shame the 3rd session is on so late.

Now is the time we need Ross Taylor to play aggressively - it's all about timing Ross and yours sucks. Must admit that I wrote Nicholls off (even in this thread) before his innings had started.

Humble pie consumed. I must admit that he had some luck early on but has capitalised on that big time - yay for us.

Still can't get that horrible "Yeah, but it's the Crappers" feeling to leave though.
