edit: Apparently this year is the first time that all 5 big leagues have been retained. Competition

Germany and Italy have been tied up for years by Bayern and Juve (7 and 8 consecutive titles respectively), PSG have been dominant in France (6 titles in 7 seasons) and Spain has generally been a Barcelona procession (7 titles in 10 seasons). All it took was the only really competitive of the big five leagues to have a club manage to retain the title (the first time it's happened in the EPL for more than a decade).

More competitive or more inconsistent league?

Villa would be a good addition back PL. A decent club with some support. If they can manage themselves better than the end of the previous era when they were beyond hopeless.

Well done the villains. Aren't Villa one of the target clubs for purchase by those wealthy Arabs?

Well done Villa.

Meanwhile Naymar shows what a twit he is by throwing down a U19 player who nutmegs him in training:

Man Utd's financial dominance came on the back of their success, not vice versa.

And a bit of luck. They were lucky they became successful right at the start of the Premiership era where bigger sums due to Sky women helped the right clubs start to pull ahead. But either way, whatever happened in the past and who, when, what and how, financial power is so considerably the dominating influence in football now there is a huge element of soulless element to the game.

Hence we see the weird phenomenon of city fans doing the triple, but not being entirely happy because other fans don't care that much about it. The finances are both creating a twin dilemma of more demand for success, but more emotional distance between clubs and their fan bases so fans aren't satisfied or happy.

You are quite mad.

I’m pretty sure some of those stands are actually in Stamford Bridge or the Emirates.

That stadium has no atmosphere. Have some Chelsea fans at work - the shit they’ve had to pull to go to the game is ridiculous. The place is so isolated.

Arsenal starting the better.

Bugger. 2nd goal for Chelsea. All over. Unai Emry looks likes he’s about to cry.

He is just over compensating like most Chelsea fans as they are just the "legitimate" front for a russian crook. Stopped being a football club a long time ago. Same for man city recently a front for the owners to hide their filth behind.

Wasn't expecting that final score at half time, we looked pretty shit in the first half and Arsenal looked like they were going to walk all over us. Absolute domination in the end. Absolutely destroyed.

Congrats JM. Didn’t see it either. Incredibly clinical, I’m bored of the Hazard transfer saga though. Getting nearly as bad as Griezmann. “The Decision” FFS

Nothing like Griezmann's relentless self-publicity and self-absorption. Hazard, by all accounts, is genuinely torn about leaving. He's already given Chelsea way more than I expected.

Where is Roman Abramovich? He seems to have disappeared since the UK Magnitsky Act and Skripal poisonings. I notice he was on the USA list of Putin scumbags.

Even before then tbh. It's been the Marina Granovskaia show for the last 5 years.

It was just like Arsenal all season and last, defence goes missing constantly, the attack doesn't even try to go at pace, Ozil and Xhaka contributing as much to the game as Henrikh Mkhitaryan did. Unai Emry has also got to sort out the terrible away form.

The sad thing is as an Arsenal fan, with our total c#nt of an owner not investing shite, No CL football (and I wans't expecting Arsenal to be greta in the CL next season) it means we have £40 million to spend rather than £100 million this summer, which sucks.

Still fun was had about the shite stadium anyway:
