Remind me how much you lot spent packaging up decentralization?

At least the national planning framework has a decent basis in reality.

We’ve been talking about this snowy weather for about three weeks.
Any reason the roads weren’t gritted by this morning?

There are limits to what grit can achieve.

1) Shit loads of roads were gritted, why are you just assuming they weren't?
2) Do you think grit helps with a few inches of snow?

Anyone else reckon Smyths will be sniffing around some of the better located Toys'R'Us locations in the UK ?

A big opportunity for them if they have the finance.

Work on the new control tower at the airport is progressing fast. I saw it the other day, it must be the tallest concrete structure on the island already. Lash it up before anyone has a chance to complain.

Liberty hall shouldn't even feature in that. It's only the third tallest building in Dublin.

We held a meeting today with everyone and have redeployed them to other stores, we won’t let the criminal actions of others impact on our hard working team.

The interesting question in that scenario is will the insurers pay out for the fire damage.
They will try and argue that it was going to be demolished anyway (so why should they be legally obliged to pay) and Lidl will argue that they should have to pay as they weren’t at demolition stage yet and that they will have lost revenue as a result also.

I'd like to think they'd do it anyway but not a chance they would have gotten away with letting them go. They get a nice publicity bump for this but compared to the negative impact if they hadn't, it's a no brainer.

Are Lidl employees on zero hour contracts?

Don't think insurers can (or will bother arguing so) that future proposed outlay diminishes their liability. Lidl can claim the full rebuild cost if they want, might come to a compromise with the insurers if they're not going to rebuild as was.

Not on my experience. Insurers will go down the “sure, you were going to knock it down anyway” route and fight paying compensation. I’ve seen it first hand. They are complete criminals when it comes to paying out.

Plus the loss of all their stock.

Indeed. They won’t be able to fight that one as much, but I’m sure they will want lots of paperwork checked on the latest inventory, which makes sense.

I've heard differently from an architect and we had some minor experience with it but maybe for commercial it's different?

All Lidl have is planning permission though. I'm not sure they've even tendered yet, I'd have thought they'd be in a strong enough position if they haven't? But either way, presumably the rebuild cost is actually the lesser of the costs they'll incur with stock and loss of earnings being a lot higher?

Just back from The Gloaming at the NCH. Can't compliment them enough. Stunning, stunning music.

They've also just released a live album from previous NCH shows. Tower Records beckons on Saturday.

Not from the majority of the general public.

Yeah, reduced pressure, but I didn't notice much at all so I must be near the start or on a network which wasn't affected for some reason. Loads lost water though so it's not just a handful near the end. It's going to be pretty painful for a lot of people if it goes on for weeks.

Family had no water at all, nothing even to brush their teeth. Pretty shit really. They're in the Terenure area.

I had plenty of water, didn't seem to be any problems, even with pressure. I had noticed some bad pressure the night before but it didn't seem to persist.
