Dunno- most Irish name ever, gotta be eligible?

That's what I was thinking. It's a name you'd choose for a clichéd Irish character on TV.

After all the talk of not taking points on offer in finals, Leinster nearly left themselves in trouble this evening by opting to scrummage under the sticks instead of kicking. I'll never understand when a winning team doesn't take the chance to just eek out that bit further ahead in KO games.

TOF was born in London, before going to Uni in Cardiff - played for several Welsh clubs before moving to Chiefs from the Ospreys wider squad.

Had a decent season, featuring more than expected due to injuries to others, but still loads of areas he can improve.

Chiefs had 18 EQP in their squad today, with 2 others poaches, in Skinner and Francis. Decent effort that

I saw today on Twitter that Piers Morgan had thrown his lot in with Cipriani4England which really must be some sort of anti-Midas Touch if ever there was one

TRP saying that Cipriani has been invited to play for the Barbarians. I imagine he’s looking at it as an opportunity to make a point, as Ashton did last year.

I wonder how he'd look. He's exceptional in a side that he's familiar with. He knows where everyone should be and can use that. Barbarians is far more off the cuff. I wonder how well he'd do with that.

Pretty good I’d imagine. If Lam’s call-ups so far are anything to go by, he’ll have a lot of good players around him and will most likely be playing behind a superior pack.

If he accepts the invite, I’ll be more concerned about how he might fare with the Barbarians famous ‘socialising’. Past evidence suggests, he’s not a guy you want out on the sauce ... definite alarm bells there for me anyway!

If doesn't get a call up for BaaBaas then whats the betting Eddie picks him in a scratch England team with a weakish pack and then blames him for not getting England the win??

He looked pretty good for Glaws from the moment he arrived. Cips is fine provided he gets to call the shots and have people running the patterns he likes.

He'd had a full preseason with glaws basically. Barbarians don't have that sort of preparation together.

Ross Harrison (Sale Sharks)
Teimana Harrison (Northampton Saints)
Paul Hill (Northampton Saints)
Beno Obano (Bath Rugby)

Obano
Dunn
Painter
Stooke
Beaumont
Dombrandt
Curry
Harrison

Jesus, that should be Baabaas by 20+.

Shouldn't really be labelling these teams England, they're barely Saxons class.

Precisely. Definitely a far cry from when we'd boldly/jokingly claim the Saxons would give the first-choice team a run for their money!

Ha, could be an interesting game.

Pleased for Ben Loader though. He's got all the tools and hope he gets on the pitch. Has been a walking highlight reel this season.

That must be about a 5th or 6th choice level of team. It would probably get relegated from the Premiership, it may even lose to Dragons or Kings!

Baabaas possible:

Marler
Hibbard
Afoa
Horwill
Vua
Luatua
Isa
Mata
Webb
Slade
Naiyaravoro
Atkinson
Fekitoa
Adeolokun
Piutau

BaaBaa by eleventymillion and Eddie Jones giving not a single fudge

Does that mean he could be a belter for the full England side?

Unless he's injured I think there's a decent chance of him being in an extended RWC training squad.

A better chance than most of the lads selected here anyway

I get the impression Eddie (as an old school hooker himself) doesn’t have much time for converted hookers who focus on the fancy-dan stuff and don’t do the basics well - disposed of Tom Youngs pretty quickly and has previously picked guys like Tom Dunn in his training squads.

If he was still coaching Japan and a player like Thacker came on his radar he'd be all over him - I just think a short, slightly posh player with long, flowing hair who mainly operates as an extra centre doesn't fit the old-school mould of English hooker he's after

He also seems to be purposely sabotaging any chance of Cipriani being able to impress anyone. Keeping him for from the Barbarians but not realistically planning to be serious with his chances.

Really can't understand this at all! Unless as HH says it's just EJ playing silly-buggers to deflect press and public criticism.

He's probably said it, but most likely in the same vein as Jack Nowell playing at 7; i.e. something daft to distract our dreadful rugby press.

He knew there was going to Cips chat this week, so he's managed the conversation.

I think it's a bit more than that. He took a FH as 9 cover to the WC for Japan. NZ were talking of having Dmac as 9 cover at one point

Realistically it's a way to get him on the plane. He's not going to drop Faz or Ford and taking 6 playmakers (3 SH and 3FH) puts strain on what you can do elsewhere in the squad. Realistically a 10 travelling as 9 cover is unlikely to get any serious gametime there. As soon as one 9 goes down, there will be another straight on a plane out there. He might have to ride the bench as 9 cover and take to the pitch in an emergency.

Probably won't happen, but it's not completely outlandish like the Nowell at 7 thing.

I doubt we've even fielded a Saxons team with only one capped player before. Should be fun

Delighted for the Sale lads, particularly Josh who's really come back into form this season.

Also pleasd for Tom Ellis, who's going out with the daughter of a colleague of mine [/Glob]

Pretty much a 4th team or lower, which makes sense given those unavailable. And down that low it's tough to argue the picks. Hopefully be a fun game.

Sort of the opposite of the BaaBaas model!

Looking forward to seeing the two 9s - reckon they’re our future there

Will also be good to see if Dombrandt can make an impact!
