Somehow I think the f**king penalty try and yellow card from Watson was more telling than back rows giving away penalties trying to do their job
Yes. Look at the size of Wales, Ireland and Frances packs.Gospel wrote:Small?Wendigo7 wrote:England are a physically small team, we need to fight for anything we get.

Our pack was considerably bigger than France. We had three locks and Nathan Hughes.Wendigo7 wrote:Yes. Look at the size of Wales, Ireland and Frances packs.Gospel wrote:Small?Wendigo7 wrote:England are a physically small team, we need to fight for anything we get.
I don’t think I’m saying much saying even though the stats say otherwise, they look a lot fuller, bigger and more physical than us.

I disagree. Losing Hughes did not help. England could field a bigger pack, sure but it is not small.Wendigo7 wrote:Yes. Look at the size of Wales, Ireland and Frances packs.Gospel wrote:Small?Wendigo7 wrote:England are a physically small team, we need to fight for anything we get.

That works if you have a big pack who are fast. England are a physically small team, we need to fight for anything we get.

If there is any accountability at all for performances then Robshaw is a goner

It doesn't matter who plays 10/12 if a) you don't get clean ball and keep getting turned over b) the SH is crapmaverickmak wrote:I still think playing Ford and Farrell together hampers both of them.
Far be it for me to defend a filthy quim but for large swathes of the game it seemed that Robshaw was the only England player making any positive interventions.englishchief wrote:Anything to deflect away from Saint Robshaw it seems

Stop being silly.
Solid analysis. Care made Wigglesworth look good, and that takes some doing.ovalball wrote:It doesn't matter who plays 10/12 if a) you don't get clean ball and keep getting turned over b) the SH is crapmaverickmak wrote:I still think playing Ford and Farrell together hampers both of them.
The problem isn't with the backs.

Is this an actual excuse for a game where we gave away 16 penalties

You mean for overthrowing the lineout?englishchief wrote:I think LCD and Simmonds can certainly come out of the game with their heads held high.
I think Farrell needs to be dropped (he's such a f**king robot, standing still and lobbing the ball on and making shit tackles in defence), Slade to go to 13 and Te'o to 12.
Mark Wilson in at 6 (even Jack Willis ffs), Hask at 7.
Maunder or Robson at 9, Wiggy and Care shouldn't even be near the squad. Vellacott instead of either of those 2 as well.
You drop ford many times over compared to Farrell.englishchief wrote:I think LCD and Simmonds can certainly come out of the game with their heads held high.

Robshaw was a joke. Plodding around the pitch, no pace, conceding penalties, getting murdered at the ruck, zero power in his carries, no stopping power in his tackles.Gospel wrote:Far be it for me to defend a filthy quim but for large swathes of the game it seemed that Robshaw was the only England player making any positive interventions.englishchief wrote:Anything to deflect away from Saint Robshaw it seems

Most of them were for holding on.
You are all over the shop, as ever.
It wasn't just Robshaw (who was crap, admittedly) the entire team lacked any sort of power.openclashXX wrote:Robshaw was a joke. The problem is when your 1-8 are an overall mediocre, and your 9 even further beyond that, those qualities can't shine through.
Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to step away from openclash and have a beer.RodneyRegis wrote:Of which the flankers conceded 4openclashXX wrote:The Man Without Fear wrote:Flankers in giving away penalties shock.

You do realise that "holding on" is as a result of an anonymous back row leaving people like George Ford to clear out BastareaudRodneyRegis wrote:Of which the flankers conceded 4openclashXX wrote:The Man Without Fear wrote:Flankers in giving away penalties shock.

Of course I can see the problem in the backrow. Robshaw isn't a 7 any more, hasn't been for 5 years at least. Lawes is not a 6.bimboman wrote:RodneyRegis wrote:Of which the flankers conceded 4openclashXX wrote:The Man Without Fear wrote:Flankers in giving away penalties shock.

If you can't see the problem in the backrow then you ain't looking.
I didn't say they wouldn't see the word 'overall' in there?bimboman wrote:englishchief wrote:Daly and Watson are world class. Te'o and Farrell are very good international players, Ford is excellent.

Oh piss off Launchbury and Itoji start for most sides internationally.

We looked to be at 50% of the French all day. How they didn't beat us by more is down mostly to them not being a good side.
