Not high end, but very nice all the same compared to my old 1970s speakers coupled to a 1990s Pioneer system. A bloody amazing sound out of such small speakers, Sonus Faber Chameleon B's, BTW.

I'd love to do something with the 300mm woofers out of the old speakers, though.

I like NAD stuff. Whoever the designer was that stitched the look together did a REAL good job. I'm probably wrong but it's all looked the same since the early 1980's. Nice minimal and clean industrial grey with a simple tidy logo. It always looks clean and modern.

Be interesting to see how many CD players are sold, even CD's now. I've barely looked at one since bluetooth was available.

After a few years of debate, I got the old vinyl gear out of the attic. NAD 3020 from 1981 still works but with a very audible hmmmmmmmm. So have replaced it with a Denon. I tried out a new NAD and liked it but as with NAD it was a an amp, only - Denon amp, cd, Internet streamer. Rega Planar 3 was not working and the cost to repair v a new one was not viable. So a new one was acquired.

As for speakers, Accoustic Research 18s .... mice ate the cones!! My wife bought me some new Deka speakers.

Costing me a fortune in vinyl now but by god, it is worth it .

The AMP has bluetooth built in with the option to plug in additional modules by way of cards, in including wifi.

Took me a while to decide to get it from Amazon, it looks so dorky, but don't think I'll be taking it off. Much better than the post suspension I tried a while back.

330 lbs / 150 kg are indicated at its heavy setting on the label that comes with it. One thing, it is not damped in any way, my first experiment at a setting had me fired out of the seat on the rebound when going straight off a kerb while sitting down, so I hardened it up a bit. But as I say, I haven't taken it off, been about a month now. Experimented with angles and positions for maybe three or four days to fine tune. You need a bit of spare height in your seat post to take up the extra height. If you fit it, make sure you lean on the allen key when you fasten the holder in position.

This will find it if you want to pursue it further: Montree Bike Rear Shocks Alloy Spring Steel Bicycle Saddle Suspension Device

A4 upgrade, kids getting too big for the back seats in the Avant..Have to say the Q5 isnt as smooth or as nice a ride as the A4, but I do like the extra features and the interior is a step up, as is the driving position. Got to love Audi gearboxes, this thing is a constant pull!

Nah, small bumps disappear. But that curb was like a good 10cm drop on a soft setting, might have nearly lifted me out of contact with the seat on the rebound.

Only 83cm at the waist, but I ski at Ruapehu 95% of the time & you don't really get proper powder there so an all mountain groomer is fine for me. Should go bloody fast.

Sennheiser _PXC-480 Noise Cancelling headphones

For what ever reason, I've always been averse to big, over ear headphones. Tried some on while my wife was browsing at an electronics store and decided I would do some research and invest in a pair. Originally I was looking at getting Audio Technica MX40/MX50's, but (basically due to having large ears) I found the ATH options pretty much universally uncomfortable, which wouldn't be good when I often listen to music thru headphones for 8+ hours a day. Sennheiser had much more comfortable shaped cups, but I couldn't get the cheaper ones I wanted, so ended up biting the bullet for their noise cancelling ones. Glad I did. The noise cancellation is amazing - so much noise you don't normally even notice is there - particularly for someone who lives in hotel rooms/short term apartment rentals with aircon and other background noise. Just wearing them with no music playing is relaxing.

Music quality is great - the imperfections in the black metal I am listening to are now so crystal clear that you can tell they were actually recorded in a public toilet cubicle, rather than the muffled tin shed it sounded like before. 8)

Can vouch for those. When I set up my surround sound in my lounge I got a Denon Amp and tried most of the wall mounted speaker ranges and settled for AR as it had the best sound for me. It's a lifetime investment.

I'm still using a vintage set of three NAD 216THX amps to run my home cinema speakers.

Close, but I was 21 when I bought my first Bonnie. My second bike was a Featherbed ES2. I bought the Bonnie with the intention of building a Triton, after the ES2 engine disintegrated. However I was offered cash for it so bought a crashed Trophy which was used to build the Triton. Currently pottering around on an (Indian) Enfield 650 twin.

My only concession to my age is now I try not to ride when it is going to rain!

Have never liked Goldwings (or Harleys). Bikes are not meant to be comfortable

Stupid bass heavy, just how I like it. That slider button on the left controls the driver bass/vibration from nothing to the point the whole lot just about bounces off your head.

Not sure how long they'll last but an hour in and they're rock solid.

Made me check to see what a Planar costs now. £650. I paid £180 for my original so looks about the same price allowing for inflation.
