I was listening to their 1 O'Clock report on the unfilled senior Garda vacancies. It seemed to have been taken verbatim from a press official in either the Garda itself or the AGSI. There wasn't even the vaguest pretence at balance - "The Government has failed to fill"; "after the break we'll discuss the threat to front-line policing".....

I know that Paul Reynolds has to lick up to the Gardai for his stories, but you might have hoped that some editor somewhere might be a bit more critical.

RTE always takes the side of the Public Sector in any story. It has for years.
I'm sure JOEEEEEE is ladling it on as we speak.

RTE stopped being impartial a long time ago. Their slant on everything is anti- government, doom and gloom reporting, always give the glass half empty slant on a story. This doesnt just apply to the current government.

The licence fee should be scrapped and RTÉ told to go fudge themselves & earn their own crust.
