Godless has lots of melodrama? I don't think so.

The relationship stuff between the sister & the teacher, the Pinkerton and the German woman, every scene that Kim Coates was in.......

Pinkerton and German woman was silly, I agree. Sister and teacher was excellent though, I thought.
I also thought, for example, that the Kim Coates scenes with Roy Goode were far from melodramatic.

Climax was quite a bit OTT and incomprehensible which was disappointing.

Anyone?

Watch it again and shazam it. I always do that with TV shows and movies.

Or is it really just a budget GOT?

It's a lot more fun than GOT. Takes itself about a tenth as seriously. Travis Fimmel and the Skarsgard brother are great.

Someone talk to me about Godless, I've watched the first episode and it's basically a cut-price Deadwood? Like... It seemed pretty good but nothing special? Is that about right?

It's not really on that level, no. Interesting concept and some good actors, but a lot of melodrama and it doesn't really stick the landing. Good, but not great.

Pretty much this. If you miss Deadwood, I'd give it a go, but don't expect it to be as good. I did enjoy it a fair amount though. Certainly a lot more than The Sinner which seemed to drop at the same time and got all the buzz.

Haven't seen the most recent episode. It is trying very hard to be another White House drama, with a contrived issues dredged up each week. The over-arcing stories are very forced too.
It was good when there was a thriller aspect to it and they were trying to uncover the conspiracy. Without that, it's fairly meh.

I'm embarrassed to say that my phone is pretty old and I couldn't figure out after 20 mins of fidgeting how to d/l the app straight to my SD card or clear enough space to download it and then move it over (went to the right places, not possible that way ... people on the web said to download some things, yadda yadda ... I didn't care that much anymore, but would still like to know the song. :( )

End credits. There are a few mentions on the web about the other song.

Cheers, tabascoboy, but it's the second series, "10 Years Later". Someone's asked the question already but there's no answer yet.

yeah the first song was Circle by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, the 2nd song is hard but they sound a lot like this group (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BFa1bK_zr4)

It's not new, but I am enjoying Batman: The Brave and The Bold. Refreshing lack of Dark Knight Darkness Black Doom and a bit of fun with the DC Universe which, as a Marvel Zombie, I didn't get much exposure to in my comic reading heyday.

Quelle surprise. :P

Anyone seen Fresh Off The Boat and/or Teachers. If you're looking for some lighthearted comedies those are pretty good. Also, on season 1 of Fortitude. Not too bad so far.

Fair play, not many would admit to going to see that.

Season 1 had its moments. Sort of went off it after that.

Do they show Huang's World overseas? Worth checking out if you haven't seen it.

To be fair, the third and fourth seasons are ropey as fudge. It's picking itself back up though, Ivar is good fun.

Cheers for the Godless thoughts boys. Will probably stick with it.

I think Fresh of the Boat is great, one of the most enjoyable sitcoms at the moment. Another one similar is The Goldbergs, I actually resisted watching it for ages but a bunch of diverse people and podcasts all recommended it so I gave it a go.

Sen: Not like you to go against pretty much popular and critical acclaim ;) did you see it in the US or in London (did it start last week).

It's the time of year where my wife and I sit down for our yearly box set binge. Last Christmas it was The Office: An American Workplace.

This time it is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Band Candy is a cracker. The one where they make Buffy into a musical is also really good.

Haven't watched the whole thing back to back for almost a decade.

It gets a bit convoluted but I really enjoyed this, the score/sound effects are well done. Love the mash up of 80s nuclear fears alongside the time travel elements. Not sure about the whole evil priest character. But can't wait for the next series
