The BBC has confirmed The Missing spin-off Baptiste will premiere next week ( Sunday 17th.) Really looking forward to this.

Bloody Hellfire. Knight Fights.

Grown men dressed in plate and chain mail armour beating the shit out of each other in melee competition with blunted weapons.

It's every bit as insane as it sounds.

New True Detective looks good so far after the laughably poor S2.

It’s okay. Started well then went a bit messy. Enjoying season 2 of the sinner - nothing amazing but worth a watch

Nonsense. True Detective Ep5 is unbelievably good. Ali and Dorff putting on a clinic.

I'm really enjoying TD. I'd have smashed it out if they'd released all episodes at once.

I thought you'd be in on this? Much more of the S1 ilk than that horse shit that was S2. It's got the rural eeriness back

Females and black people on a german ww2 submarine makes perfect sense. Do they have Jews? Perhaps a gay jewish black midget as captain?

I still kind've wish they just left it alone after season 1.

Having been reading Treasure Island to my daughter, I thought I would check out Black Sails. It's OK, but Muppet Treasure Island keeps invading. It's hard take the tits and violence seriously when you're waiting for Tim Curry to start singing along with a load of puppets.

Why? It's just different stories under the same title - it's just an anthology. S1 still exists and is still awesome.

Apparently it has two story lines; one at sea and one on land with French Resistance.

Yeah I started it the other day. First 2 episodes were good. Not quite getting the claustrophobia of the u-boat crew yet but early days I suppose.

Can't wait to see it, but I'll be sorely disappointed if there isn't a Lesbian Midget Jewish U-Boat commander now.

 I'll not give away any spoilers.

I didn't realise it was a sequel rather than a reboot though. I began to enjoy much more when I realised that

A friend has just managed to acquire the torrents for the series, really looking forward to watching this, especially if it's a sequel, and not a reboot of what was a movie that really requires no re-telling at all.
Gutted I'll have to wait until Thursday night before I can properly binge on this one.

Technically, it's a prequel I think.

Well, I learned Lizzy Caplan is in it, and she played a lesbian Canadian WAAF in Allied, as Brad Pitt’s sister. I love her, so am not complaining, but wondered how she’s been shoe horned in. We had agents in France in WW2 and I don’t think this plotline can be as lame and cliched as our TV show X-Comapny

No need to apologise. I was pissed off because it was the yanks attacking them in the first episode until I googled it.

It's annoying me that Kaplan speaks in English to her Resistance mates who speak in French to her.

That's odd. Couldn't even force her to muddle through French and write her in as a Canadian? Seem to recall Pitt having a significant amount of French in the aforementioned "Allied".

Indeed...

I defended season 2 as I felt that some of the criticism it was getting was over the top, and there were people that were just after a rehash of the first season, which would've been lame... but no doubt it was a major step down, and much of that was due to Pizzolatto being forced into thrashing it out within a year and which the former head of HBO acknowledged that he regrets making him do so.

It also lacked the consistent quality in direction that the first and third season have had...

Anyways, there have been a few easter eggs in the latest season...

Spoiler: show
