‘Don’t fûck with cats’

On Netflix. 3 episodes.
Well worth a watch.
You’ll come away from it feeling like you’ve rolled in something.

My top shows were,
Loved it
1. The Boys - Can't wait for S2)
2. Umbrella Academy - Lots of fun.
3. Chernobyl - Didn't 'enjoy' it (if you know what I mean) but it was brilliant!

Enjoyed
3. Mandalorian
4. Doom Patrol

Passable
5. Stranger Things S3 (I think S2 put me off a bit)
6. Titans S2 (a bit meh but fun).

Frustrated
7. Witcher... Loved the game, books were passable. Not bothered too much by adaption/changes too much, but the writing, acting in parts, timeline stuff.... Frustrated.

Yeah nah
Watchmen. Imo, just meh/shite.

Wow, I'm not a big TV watcher at all, didn't realize I watched 8 series

TV series of the decade for me what probably True Detective Season 1 (and Season 1 only).
Never felt as tuned in and freaked out as I did watching that series.
They'll probably not be anything like it, one of those shows you wish you could forget everything about to rewatch.

Fargo season 1 was brilliant too, GOT was brilliant until the marked drop in S7/8.

Must admit Smurf I don't watch a lot, tried the Watchmen series and just couldn't get into it. I really struggle to get interested in much the last few months, I just maybe need to turn off everything except sports channels?

They really just made a total balls of Dr. Manhattan.
So much so it ruined anything positive they did with the series.
The last 2/3 episodes were so bad. I hate to get my culture wars hat on but I genuinely think they thought the fact they were using a black actor would gloss over the fact it was boring and all totally telegraphed.

Hahahaha, wait, hahahaha, wait, hahahaha.

Watchmen may be the most polarising show out there, half the people i know/read love it while the other half complain about it. I guess I'm going to have to watch it (the first episode at least) to decide for myself.
You’ll love it. Definitely watch it.
I think you're setting me up for a trap. :)

Like you I'm a fan of The Leftovers, but I also really really didn't like The Watchmen movie.

TWD the first 3 seasons were excellent but then it became shitttier and shittier...Sherlock was undoubtedly the best "British" tv series of the last decade (only 15 episodes in 10 years though lol), not farking downtown abbey. Daredevil the most bingeable (can watch all seasons in a go) and animation wise, the best possibly was Rick and Morty though i didn't like it..best mini series was probably a toss up between chernobyl or Good Omens

True detective 1 is the GOAT of mini series.

Fargo 1 is outstanding, but it is actually one of the few shows that could maintain their level in the following seasons. Even Season 3 was great, looking forward to season 4 in 2020, supposed to play in Kansas city in the mid 1950s.

Really unusual to find a show where there are no likeable characters, to be so engrossing.
Kendall is ok isn’t he? Admittedly I’ve only watched the first four eps.
Best I could say is he's the character people could be most sympathetic towards. He's still an entitled billionaire, whose confidence surpasses his abilities
I am watching it through the prism of Arrested Development and he’s the Michael so in that respect I think he’s ok.
Hey MIB - how far in are you now? I found this comparisson interesting and want to know how you view him now.
I'm half way through season 2 and Michael in AD, he definitely is not.

You left out Succession - probably the best box set of the year. Also 6/10 for Chernobyl and 7/10 for the jumper the shark handmaids tale get a grip. Handmaids tale should have ended after season one. Still visually great but the plot has gone to shite

I've said it before - it's technically great but they succumbed to America's stupidness and cast a bunch of British people meandering in and out of their own regional accents and into Russian ones. I couldn't get past that. They should have cast Ukranians and Russians and subtitled it. But then stupid people wouldn't have watched it.

Agreed on Handmaid's Tale, if they had ended it after the first season it would've been an excellent and very complete piece of work.

It got turned into torture porn and had all the trappings of an American tv show scrabbling for a compelling plot to put on its cast.

I think the movie is okay as an adaptation. Its stylish and modern, but it really lacks a lot of the depth and nuance.

I see from a search that a few posters watched Catch 22 back in Sept ... has anyone else?

I recently finished it and - bearing in mind I barely remember the book - liked it a lot. Both realistic enough and humourous in a dark way. The comedy and acting wasn't played too over the top, I felt. I liked the choice of going with a bunch of no-names as the mains, and a few big names as the officers in charge.

Plane nerds will have to bite their tongues, however, as you always see the gun barrel sticking out of the nose, but you never (that I noticed) saw the rest of the gun that should be inside the plane. :)
