Oddly enough I can't picture the likes of English , Ryall , Joyce etc doing that . Bridges however would play the anthem naked Le Petomaine style on seven sharp if he thought it would help make him pm so photos with guns are a no brainer there.

I think the best "Leader of the Opposition" would be Collins. She could bully the hell out of the Government and no-one would be surprised. But I am not sure she is an electable PM.

She's as corrupt as hell. Wouldn't take long for her past to catch up with her.

The major parties have employed a 'good cop-bad cop' approach when it comes to their leader and deputy leader working together. It works best when it's the Deputy who plays the bad cop though. The Nats would be best served by electing a leader who's a charmer, and let their Deputy (probably Bennett) be their hitman.

One of those that she named was a client of mine when she started up her own business.

She's doing great by the way - she told me a few months ago what went down in her face to face meeting and it wasn't pleasant. She thought she was going to get an apology.

Ah now you're forgetting that guns are fun. For an NZ politician getting photographed having said fun though is naive.

Adams leader with Bennett deputy.

I've seen Adams speak in person. Adams is very bright. My impression upon seeing her in person a few times, is that she has the abstract "it" quality. She's a 'details' person probably due to in part to her legal background. However, there is a question mark around her ability to work with a team.

From a male perspective, I thought she was quite tidy. But she seems to have let herself go a bit over the last 12 months.

She should have taken a audio recorder with her.

I remember somebody doing that when they met with the ACC senior management a few years ago. As a result of the recording, you got to hear what they were really like - a pack of bullies.

Hearing some rumours that Clarke G has been caught doing something naughty which could be extremely embarrassing.

Anybody catching a whiff of scandal?

It's been around on the gutter blogs for a week or two. Pretty risky for the Nats to use their proxies to go after JA via Clark Gayford. Still, it worked with Turei, and they are slow learners and/or unable to change their dirty politicking ways.

 Well come on then??? You can't leave it dangling like that! What's the general nature of these of course completely unsubstantiated and likely untrue rumours which nonetheless your repeating of the fact of them means in no way that you're endorsing the truth of them? Shagging, massive meth problem, buying up fishing industry shares the day before the Labour / Green government throws the dolphins under the trawler, his YouPorn account hacked and showing industrial levels of "stepmom bbc" searches, buying Israeli grapes, caught on tape saying that women's sport is mostly pretty shit and their demands for equal pay are ridiculous? C'MON!

I am really fishing for more information as that is almost the extend of my "whisper". Contracts with a largish government department are hinted at but, despite threatening to kill my source, he won't say any more.

He did say it doesn't involve the Nats.

Stepmom searches on Youtube? Hmmm, back in 3 hours

Good man. The bbc thing makes a fair difference to the search results according to my friend.

Was at the opening of an envelope yesterday. Speech from the PM. Paul Goldsmith was there looking distinctly unimpressed with everything that was going on.

You ridiculous creature. Turei did everything to herself by being an amoral dishonest cow. It was magnificent to watch unfold as she went from preening about it to realising how badly she had dropped herself into it.
If any party helped Napoleon shaft herself it was Labour , they ran their campaign plan by them first and instead of saying "wtf?are you insane?" they let them go ahead with it and ultimately benefitted from it.
Well played Labour.

Remember when Peter Davis was detained in the states for being caught with a rent boy and Helen Clark sent an air force jet to fly him home? Me either because it never happened.
The rumours you want to believe the most are the ones you should be most skeptical of imho.

Well played Labour.

It's odd how the left have succeeded in deluding themselves about what happened. It was Turei's own family that did for her. They phoned John Campbell and told him they were sick of the (false, scandalous) implication that they'd stood by and let their daughter in law risk the starvation of their grandchild were it not for benefits cheating, and were prepared to go on the record about the very substantial financial and non-financial help Turei had had from them. Campbell contacted Turei for comment as he's required to do, and she resigned within two hours.
