One of NZ’s best political commentator imo.
Anytime I think about Danyl, I remember him for two things. He was the other quiet dude at the back of the English class. And he was on a six figure salary in his early 20s. Hopefully he hasn't turned arrogant.

She also had to retract her statement there had been a confidentiality agreement with Handley over his financial settlement
You're going to love this part then - I asked her the name of the website she saw it on, it's called 'womensagenda.com.au'.Seneca of the Night wrote:That makes me so proud.UncleFB wrote:One of my Aussie mates sent me a story about her (from some random website) with her baby pass to the UN and how some Japanese delegates walked in on her mid nappy change.kiwinoz wrote:More importantly, whats little Neve up to today? Yeah isn't that pathetic. I always find the fawning lackies hanging around their dear leader during interviews (from both sides) the most pathetic spectacle.Santa wrote:And while little Neve was out there negotiating trade deals..

I can see the argument. It was Meka’s electorate so she should be visible and can understand why she was a bit miffed. This is in no way an excuse though.booji boy wrote:Yeah isn't that pathetic. Not like he was voted in by the viewing public though is it. I doubt the National caucus is influenced by these photo ops.UncleFB wrote:It got Bridges to the leadership of the Nats so clearly it has some success.booji boy wrote:Yeah isn't that pathetic. I think it might have raised his profile enough, he was seen as john's boy, for the caucus to think he could do the job.booji boy wrote:Not like he was voted in by the viewing public though is it. Sounds like it's a bit of he said she said with no one seeing the altercation take place ... which may be why they're hesitant to throw Whaitiri to the wolves.Wilderbeast wrote:I can see the argument. The Māori MP’s standing by her need a talking to and whichever one said these issues are best sorted out in private should get a stiff upper cut and a boot out the door.

yup. That's some conclusive shit there.
Yeah. Seems to be a bit of a waste of talent for an expat who has done well overseas wanting to come back and give something back to his country.Seneca of the Night wrote:The Handley thing is interesting. They are probably positioning for the 2020 election. They know the Maori party would use their "lack of spine" against them to take votes off them.Wilderbeast wrote:

Speaking to a number of different tech luminaries, most of whom asked that their quotes not be attributed to them due to the tight-knit nature of the community, there was an overwhelming sense of bemusement at his apparently imminent appointment.
“I feel a little bit sorry for Derek,” wrote one. “He has been a tireless self-promoter for so many years, and obviously really wants the job.
“But, I’m pretty confident that he would take much more from the job than he would contribute. And that’s not what we need.”
“None of us really consider him a technologist,” said another. “He didn’t invent new ad formats – Google and Facebook did that. He just sold them.”

You might want to ask Jacinda why on earth she stood her minister down then, based on such flimsy evidence.guy smiley wrote:FFS...Wilderbeast wrote:The report that went to Ardern was leaked to the press. Is this Jackson who is currently backing abusive bosses, celebrating Ardern doing her speech saying she will never celebrate NZ womens achievements while foreign women still suffer prejudice, when a week ago she celebrated Suffrage 125 in front of many media lenses?Seneca of the Night wrote:Willie Jackson on Facebook:

"We must not be silent in the face of intolerance, hate and discrimination. We must speak for those who do not have voice", when Jacinda spoke these words at the UN General Assembly during the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit, while Clarke held Neve, she not only channeled a new type of leadership based on kindness and compassion, she challenged every stereotype that has locked women and men into the career or family trap. They showed everyone that with support, people can have family and career.
She has also shown the planet that leadership doesn't require brutal tough guy masculinity, there can be an equally strong leadership through simple kindness. She has done more for our international standing in one appearance than many Prime Ministers manage in a lifetime. We should all feel a deep pride in the way Jacinda, Clarke and Neve have shone and represented us on the global stage. Their humble grace reminds us all of our basic humanity. There is a joy in all of this and we should all drink deeply from it, this is a moment where we are all included and have all been served wonderfully by our Prime Minister and her family.
We can get back to arguing and bickering about politics tomorrow, but today was truly special.
