Every year I hope that Miami will be on the rise and NE on the decline.

Bears - supposed to have a top offence and shit defence. Miserable attacking performance today. 7 year deal for Cutler is looking like a good idea. Anyway, let's see what happens during the rest of the season.

Now that I am back in the US, near DC but in MD, I can only watch Redskins and Ravens. Prefer Washington but Baltimore are better. Difficult to pull for either team really. Bears all the way for me!!

Cutler is completely awful. Jeff George 2.0.

Games I saw today:

New England-Miami - tight game til the 4th where New England suddenly could do nothing on offense. Not sure if it was down to a poor offensive line or just on his passing, but Brady got pretty inaccurate late. Miami though did have a good secondary in coverage without drawing penalties.

Dallas-San Francisco - the final scoreline flatters Dallas heavily, they were not in the Niners' league in the first half and the second half the Niners were in coasting mode

now, go Denver! just intercepted Luck off a deflection

The elite neckbearded one picked off early. Terrible shame.

Stevus, the Jags looked good early. Once Bortles comes in and Shorts and Robinson are healthy you've suddenly got some pretty damn exciting skill players. Lots of reasons to be hopeful.

I thought that Dallas looked quite good in certain parts of the game, it was just Romo looked short of practice...he was dreadful in the first.

Their D Line was good, we struggled to get a decent running game going. I thought their running game also looked good, the Niners Defence will have to improve a lot.

It's certainly not a performance that makes me think that we will go any better than 11-5.

15 yard penalty on the ball carrier. Guy he hit was the punter.

I think he made the split-second decision to hurdle over the punter because the punter was so low and flat-footed, and just as quickly realized that wouldn't work. That and the punter lived up to the tackling potential you expect of punters.

Fair few surprises. Bills over Bears, Dolphins over Pats, Falcons over the Saints. Could be an interesting year. The Vikings sounded like they were really, really, good as well.

Ah bugger forgot to tinker with my fantasy team as well as use any waivers I had as my connection kept breaking during the draft so got hardly anyone I wanted.

Dumbeldore, It ended up looking that way but when you see the whole context of the play it's not. Defender was committed to tackling Bryant (the intended recipient), and like all NFL tacklers they just put their head down and go. Bet the defender never even realised it had been intercepted until he picked himself up off the deck. How Bryant got back up is pretty amazing. But he left the game later dehydrated. Don't know how in Jerry's fully air conditioned stadium, that just happens to have been Bryants home field. Maybe a bit under the weather anyway. SF defended him well, but their D is so suspect with injuries and criminals. :(

Peter King's statement suggested bullshit. Schefter's reaction shows he's pissed (and he's never like that). I'd say its utter horseshit and the league office are shitting themselves right now.

Rather annoyingly, I am scheduled to be in Houston next weekend while they take on the Raiders in Oakland. Terrible planning.

So TMZ bring justice to the league, what a f*cking joke. Goodell sh*t the bed with the initial suspension... what good did he think could come of a 2 game ban?

On the field, JJ Watt put in one of the best games I can remember seeing yesterday. He was out of this world.

I wonder if Watt could get the MVP this time round, although Redskins offensive line is pretty weak.

Feel kind of bad for Ray Rice, to lose everything over possibly one mistake.

If Goodell is fired or "decides to resign to spend time with his family", it's bullshit. I don't care for Goodell that much as a commissioner so no loss if he's gone, but he's there to not rock the boat and do the owners' bidding. If he's let go, he'll be replaced by another Goodell. (Maybe the NFL will do the NHL a favor and hire Gary Bettman. )

The NFLPA meanwhile are silent...
