Kyler Murray isn't quite as much of a short-arse as many people were expecting.
Just over 5'10" (slightly taller than Russell Wilson).

And the Jets are looking to trade out of #3 pick, possibly the Raiders out of #4.
Cardinals could piss off a lot of teams if they draft Murray.

There seems to be a real possibility that the Jaguars could sign Foles for a year or two and also draft Murray or Haskins. What a time to be alive, can’t wait to see how it blows up in our faces :)

Could do a lot worse than signing Foles.

Murray will be off the board by the time Jags pick.

There’s been a bunch of [unverified Twitter] rumours that the Jaguars front office is all in on Haskins and will do what they need to to move up for him

Haskins ran a 5.0 40 today. That’s slower than Eli Manning. Want him to do well being an OSU guy but idk.

Due to "shiny new toy syndrome" there's going to be a lot of very good defensive players dropping to the middle / bottom of the first round - so looking good for teams who are already playoff contenders.

Expecting Kyler Murray to go #1 to the Cardinals.
Despite his slow 40 time, Haskins will go early.

A couple of the WRs really impressed with their numbers and physical appearance - esp DK Metcalf.
And the never ending rock/paper/scissors evolution of the game means TEs are back in fashion - and there are several very good prospects this year.

Antonio Brown appear to be looking at trade options with the Cardinals, Redskins, Raiders and maybe Jets.
Might be tough for Pittsburg to get a 1st rounder for him.

Personally, I'd rather spend the money on Le'von Bell...

Raiders apparently looking for trade offers for Derek Carr at the Combine.
While I can understand the idea that we could get a better QB than Carr, I just happen to think we have higer priorities.
Like: Right Tackle, Tight End (if Cook walks), Running Back, 2 x Wide Receivers, Defensive Tackle, 2 x Edge Rusher, 2 x Line Backers, Slot CB & Safety.
Apart from that, we're fine. Oh, and a Punter who can kick it past where the ball was originally snapped from.

Another season of suck... :(

Getting rid of Carr would be a good move. He's way overpaid for what he can provide. Then go sign a place holder and draft somebody better.

I wouldn't be taking Metcalf early. He is fast, but runs very few routes.

Fant and Hockenson looked very good.

AB is a Raider - for a 3rd and a 5th.

Not sure I like it - because I still would have rather paid Mack - but I'm happy for the Oakland fans that get something to cheer about next season.

Also, the Steelers have over 21m in dead money now, so that's good for a laugh!

EDIT: Per Schefter, Raiders are adding money to Antonio Brown’s deal: He now will have three years worth $50.125 million - with incentives to go to $54.125 million, per source. Where there was no guaranteed money there’s now $30.125 million guaranteed, per source.

It's basically 2 years of elite WR at about $35M (at which point we start to re-sign those players from Gruden's first draft).
For a 3rd and a 5th round pick.

So, we've traded:
Amari Cooper, a 3rd rounder and a 5th rounder (plus a wasted season) for Antonio Brown and a first rounder.
At less money that it would have cost to extend Cooper (whose agent would have been wanting something approaching OBJ's 5 year, $90M with $60M guaranteed).

I, personally, wouldn't have made this deal - a lot of money on a single player when we could have gone after a Safety, Linebacker, Defensive Lineman, Right Tackle, Wide Receiver and retained Jared Cook - and then targeted an Edge Rusher, slot Corner, and additional LB and WR in the first two rounds of the draft.
However, for the price we actually paid - it's a feckin' steal

Pittsburgh got robbed, thev're paid $20M to let AB walk, will only get a 3rd round compensatory pick for Bell (in 2020).
The Mack and Cooper trades don't look quite so bad now.

The shape of things to come?
It you can't or won't pay big money to extend superstars then it's better to trade them early rather than see them walk.
Of course, actually paying your key players should be plan A...

Mack still hurts :((

Hopefully the Jets do something stupid and the Raiders can pick up Quinnen Williams (we're getting our stupid out of the way today - $16M for the Pats Left Tackle).

OBJ post from yesterday: "Often times in my life I found myself worryin about tomorrow or my future instead of livin in every single moment. So, I just wanna take a moment to thank God for where I’m at Today because tomorrow’s never promised. I’m just grateful for the opportunity he’s given me so far and even more thankful for whereever he’s takin me! I’m followin your lead... LUV"

A lesson there for young folk - life might be going great, happy with where you're at, everything cruisey... but if you stop worrying about tomorrow for just a moment... *BOOM* you're in Cleveland motherfucker!

Hard to work out any real clear cut "winner" in that deal.

If he re-works his deal, then probably the Browns - at the moment it's a 1st rounder, 3rd rounder and Peppers for a 2 year rental of OBJ (he can opt out prior to 2021). If they give him more money and convince him to commit for longer, then it's reasonable.

Giants may have gotten more elsewhere. Not exactly much to excite anyone about their team without OBJ.

OBJ - moving to Cleveland.

Eli - probably wishes he was moving to Cleveland too.

It's rather sad that the Raiders apparently have enough cap space to look at more big contracts in free agency, but don't have enough actual cash to get anything more done.

Probably have to look at older players who are willing to sign 1 year deals. Maybe Suh?

Worse spots for me are: Green Bay, Kansas, St Louis and Buffalo. That's it. Detroit has way better 'burbs, before you suggest.

Cleveland and Detroit are basically the same. They double for each other in movies. Cleveland has places that would match somewhere like Grosse Pointe in Detroit, Hunting Valley for example. And the city of Cleveland itself still has some decent neighborhoods with nice historic architecture.

Places like Cincy and Indy and Pittsburgh are a lot like Cleveland and I’m not knocking them, but Cleveland like Chicago has nice beaches to use in the summer while the inland cities don’t.

The sunbelt has better weather obviously but most of the cities are sprawling and attractions can be far apart. Northern cities are older and things tend to be a little closer together which is a nice convenience. My family will always bring up how spread out things are in Atlanta when they visit. Same deal in Dallas, Houston etc.
