I normally watch the "condensed" games on YouTube (It's on the NFL YT channel iirc). They also have highlights only. I can't be arsed to devote 12 hours to watch a game

Hmmm, yeah good point. I do, however, have a lot of time on my hands this evening.

Im quite new to NFL but is Cam Newton a Gavin Henson-type player? ie. everyone loves taking the piss out of him but he’s actually a decent player.
Im only 4 or 5 episodes into the latest season of All or Nothing but he comes across alright in that

I believe Cam to be style over content and he's got no style.

I'm also quite new to it, but from what I understand he started out very good. Made it to the super bowl and was season MVP. Since then it went down hill a bit and he also had some injuries.

Kyler Murray done good again. Not the finished article but Defo has a future in the sport. Jackson good again too.

After a slow start, KC are going to town on the raiders. Brees out of the rams game but not a lot happening.

Chiefs were actually 'dogs at the bookies after going down 10-0.

Easy pickings.

Raiders give up 4 TDs in the 2nd.

Patrick Mahomes in 2nd quarter 12 for 17 278 yards, 4 TDs. Last player with 278+ yards in any quarter was Drew Brees w/ 294 vs Atlanta 11/9/08

https://twitter.com/JoshDubowAP/status/1173352589888380938

Raiders gave up a 3rd and 20 on one of those TDs. :uhoh:

Joke of a call to run the 2pt conversion after the way Minshew played on that drive.

Allen has plenty of flaws but the Bills finally have a QB they can at least work with. 1st QB we have had since Kelly to go 7 games in a row with 200+ throwing yards.

Realistically 4-1/3-2 would be great going into the bye with anything better than that warmly welcomed with the Dolphins being the 1st game back from the bye week.

Don't think we will make the play offs but if we get to the thanksgiving game in Dallas 8-3 or 7-4 I may start to believe we can.

Falcons did their best to try and lose that. Or really, Matt Ryan did. Luckilly Julio came to play and Ridley had a few great grabs as well. Wents kept thme in the game after a poor start. Falcons were lucky to win that.

Matt Ryan worries me. Always thought of him as a "safe" option and nothing more. Never really possessed the x-factor. Actually, The QB at UGA, Jake Fromm, reminds me of the same type of player as well. They'll be good, give their sides a chance but just can't get over the finish line when it counts. Ryan was crap last night.

Tough enough couple of games after next week with the Patriots, Eagles and Titans. Have to beat the Bengals and get to 3-0 going into that series of games.
Allen does look a QB that can be built around so that is good after the last few years. Agree that unlikely to make the playoffs but definitely something to start working on.

Allen, Jackson and Murray were all guys that draft “experts” talked down. These same people pretty much unanimously loved Josh Rosen.

If we win v the Bengals and then take the Titans game (not easy but not impossible) then we head to the bye 4-1 with the Dolphins, Eagles and 'Skins which could open things up for the rest of the season but I can't see us getting to the Eagles game being 5-1. Would expect 3-3 to be more likely than 5-1.

Our defence looks sharp and Allen seems to like Brown. It is funny, Jones as done nothing in the catching game but has blocked really well. Not the done thing for receivers but it is got him on the field more than Beasley. Players are finding a way to add to the team.

I have had a similar argument with guys in a couple of the dynasty leagues I played in. Allen wasn't going to be an immediate success, he still might not be a success. But of the QBs left on the board at the time he is a far better option for Buffalo, with they way the GM and coach want to run things, the shitty OLine last year and his robustness than Rosen was.

Such bad clock management from the Jets there. 2nd down on your own 10 with 53 seconds left and your 3rd string QB and you decide to throw a pass on 2nd? Even with the 1 timeout for the Browns, you can run out the clock or at worst punt the ball with no time left. Just idiotic.

Was at Rams game yesterday. Good day out, my 2nd ever game, after Patriots and Jets at the end of last years regular season.

Watching Jets here - they are bad on offense.

Too late. Minkah Fitzpatrick traded to Steelers for 1st round pick in 2020.

That is a gamble of a trade for the Steelers IMO. With Ben out for the season and possibly beyond if it is a UCL problem according to pro football doctor on twitter (he said it on a pod) and Connor banged up they are putting a lot of faith in Rudolph.

That pick could be a top 10 pick. 6-10 was 10th pick last season!

Good move by the Steelers IMO. Miami paid his signing bonus and they obviously back the pick they dealt to be higher. Plus he’s a player I thought was going to be an All-Pro coming out of college.

They have 10 first rounders on defense now.

Quote:
6 they drafted - Devin Bush, Terrell Edmunds, T.J. Watt, Bud Dupree, Cam Heyward, Artie Burns.
4 drafted by other teams - Minkah Fitzpatrick, Mark Barron, Joe Haden, Tyson AluAlu.

I just came on here to officially apologize to Bones for dismissing Lamar Jackson's ability. He is doing better than the 2018 class. I will say he landed on a better team than the other 4 and with a better coach and a QB coach at that.

He may be better but he definitely landed in a far better situation.

I watched that game and his tirade. He's a loose cannon and was probably never going to sign a long term deal anyway?

He didn’t handle that situation well but I think he’s sick of shitty coaching and losing. The Jaguars are an absolute dumpster fire and the front office just makes continual poor decisions. I think he would have signed a deal if they’d given him one in the off season but for some reason they want to play hard ball with two of the best young players in the league. I’d quite happily see the entire FO fired and Ramsey kept, he’s a generational player and he’s not a bad influence in the locker room 🤷🏼‍♂️
