So what’s the deal with this Kaepernick workout?

Jaysus.
If you haven't heard, almost final play of the game, Myles Garrett throws Mason Rudolph to the ground after he'd thrown the ball, they wrestle on the ground and when they get up Garrett rips Rudolph's helmet off, gets dragged away by a O-lineman, Rudolph goes after Garrett who promptly smacks his head with Rudolph's OWN helmet.
Steeler O-linemen throw Garrett to the ground, Pouncey (Steeler Centre) goes apeshit and punches & kicks at Garrett's head/helmet when he's on the ground.
Ogunjobi (Cleveland DT) pushes Rudolph to the ground before joining the fray.

Garrett, Pouncey & Ogunjobi all get ejected.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTTzJ52IBHQ

How 'Cleveland' to take their biggest win for years and 'Cleveland' it up with a stupid brawl.

Record suspension for a single* on-field incident is 5 weeks.
This will be more. Could, should, be rest of the season.

Garrett, probably gooonne for the season (6 games +)
Ogunjobi probably just a fine.
Pouncey likely to get a (shorter) ban as well.

Oh, by the way, the re-match in Pittsburgh is in two weeks

* Yes, I know Vontaze Burfict got 12 weeks but that included "previous". Lots and lots of "previous".

Yeah, Pouncey doing what he did looks worse than it is but only because Garrett was wearing a helmet but don't think that should matter.

I'd go 4 week ban for Pouncey and 8 for Garrett.

Was there not another player ejected earlier?

I have Shobert in two IDP dynasty leagues. Nice wee 40 point performance!

Pouncey was protecting his QB based on that description. He'll still get a suspension mind you but most offensive linemen in the league would go at a guy that did what Garrett was doing.

Was it Randall ejected earlier for a helmet to helmet hit. Dont think it was malicious mind you but very very ugly.

Pouncey just protecting his QB. He'll cop a ban but be respected in the locker room for his actions. Garrett on the other hand? Just madness.. Browns must be over the moon with losing their 2017 no 1 draft pick for the season.

I agree re Pouncey. If I was Tomlin, Colbert or even Mr Rooney I wouldn't be too hard on Pouncey. I want my guys protecting my QB.

But the NFL can't have the video of punches being thrown and a kick to the helmet without suspending him.

Oh and Rudolph should at least cop something for his scummy face grab that set Garrett off.

Pouncey - 4 weeks
Garrett - rest of season at least
Rudolph - 1 week

That's what I reckon

Nope. That's just silly. QB trying to get 280 pounds off him as he is held down well after the ball is gone. Won't get a mention.

But Pouncy 4 wks, and Garrett 6-8 wks I'd agree with.

Edit: stay tuned for me eating crow in 3 days time.

Still not as bad as when Albert Haynesworth ripped a guy's helmet off in order to stomp on his head.

Garrett suspended indefinitely.

The NFLPA will be filing a labor grievance soon I'm sure.

Ogunjobi - 1 game
Pouncey - 3 games

All players suspended without pay and will be fined. Browns and Steelers organizations each fined $250,000.

Browns slate is a complete joke too, they had a shot.

Rudolph not suspended as punishment too?

I said above, chances were slim to none. He's a QB who was jumped on and held down by MG. His reaction was nearly justified. He may still get a fine though.

Pleased that the NFL acted quickly and made it clear about MG's 2019 involvement.

Different times.

Speaking of, I've been having some fun lately watching old NFL games and NFL Films documentaries...there is a real treasure trove on YouTube for anyone looking to watch more quality football or learn more about the legends. Particularly enjoyed watching a football team called the St. Louis Cardinals running around on Astroturf in the old Busch Stadium...by the time I was around, football hadn't been played in there for years. It must have been a pain talking sports in St. Louis back in the day, needing to clarify between the "football Cardinals" and the "baseball Cardinals"! Funnily enough, the Cardinals actually lasted longer in St. Louis than the Rams did, though you'd hardly know nowadays as there are few signs of their existence outside some photos hanging on the walls of some old town bars. Which is a real shame as there were some great players who ought to be St. Louis sports legends but have been largely forgotten (same with the NBA Hawks, see Bob Pettit).

Sorry, I'm rambling...anyways, I brought this up because I was watching some Jack Tatum clips the other day, and boy...you'd be criminally charged for some of these tackles today. Those dudes who played back then were properly fvcking hard.

The best story from back then has to be Jack Youngblood playing the whole 1979 playoffs including the SB on a broken leg.

Well that was bloody stupid from Deshaun Watson.

Could have thrown in away 2 or 3 times, held on and finally got sacked and fumbles it away.

Why bother challenging for Pass Interference when they still don't call it on the replay?

Texans vs Ravens, defender pulling the shirt and then tackling DeAndre Hopkins before the ball arrives.
"The ruling on the field stands..."

Everyone just needs to accept that the NFL fvcked over the Saints, it's over, it's done, let's just get on with it. Hated this new rule when it was announced, and that was before seeing how horribly it has worked.

Ravens bitch slappin' the Texans.
Who will lose division lead as the Colts are humping the Jags.

Vikings trying a 20 point comeback against Denver.
Cowboys holding off a Detroit comeback.

Maxx Crosby the best Crosby. :o The kid is beasting!

Made very hard work of that, but I'll take the win...

Donks v. Vikes was fun.

Patriots hang on... just closed out Philly.

Points total for this game opened at 42.5 - the unders was duly hammered...

Predictably ugly viewing.

Trubisky benched at the end? Daniel was out here for the final drive. Weak move by Nagy, if Mitch was healthy. Hung him out to dry.

EDIT: Sounds like Mitch was favouring a hip, so no point putting him back out there.

Rams will take that ugly win over the Bears.

Our Oline has been horrible all year and with 3 starters out, expectations were for Mack to kill Goff but the replacements played the best game of the year. Goff had time and protection....and was still pretty average :?
Gurley had 25 carries but also looked pretty average.

Jalen Ramsey has been a great pickup. We look much better on D since the trade re-jigging. Still, gone from Superbowl favourite to borderline wild card team in short order. Ravens up next. Rams could get blown out or could win close, they just seem so inconsistent on offense these days.

That was a good win for the Pats, an "ugly win". Their defence got tested by Philly but they hung on. The offence is still struggling, but Wynn should be back very soon, which should make life a bit easier for Brady, as he was rushed hard in the first half.
