The Irish 9 hasn’t been in the same post code as the breakdown for this entire match.

Italy still in this despite playing most of the game with 14 men

Having been at the game, form what I could see the 9 was indeed often well away from the breakdown, still I thought he was one of Ireland’s best played in the first half. A Meath lad if I am correct. A younger brother of a Meath gah county footballer Cillian O’Sullivan.
I was very surprised the Ireland no.11 got motm. From where I was sitting he looked bang average and messed up a few chances.

Edinburgh have been a bogey team for even the best Leinster teams in the past so I'm not too worried about tonight.

Expectations may be high but Leinster aren't perfect.

Ronaldson at 10, haven't been saying that at all since McGinty left

Carty is a much better all rounder than 2018 Ronaldson. Injuries have taken their toll in a big way and 2 years back I would've definitely been of the mindset that Ronaldson is our best 10 before AJ came and left. Carty was hung out to dry by our own fans for less than Ronaldson's missed penalty in the first half.

We left with about ten to go as he was knackered. As far as he is concerned we are still winners.

McPhillips was decent. Showed some good touches though some of his kicking was wayward. Everyone else were themselves, Herbst is dirt as is Warwick, Gilroy and Lyttle finished well.

It the few highlights I saw, AOC seemed to be constantly involved.
And was still going strong at the end of the match.

Trying to watch 4 matches at one time is a bit of a disaster, don’t think I really saw anything worthwhile.

Perfect, I’m off on a stag to Cardiff next week, may as well get in the bad books now.

Perfect game for the likes of Gilroy and Lyttle to look outrageously good, TBF.

Ah, given the side, it's not the worst defeat in the world and at least it was 2 points gained. But very frustrating given how we dominated the game.

The two games against the Scarlets will define where we finish in the conference.

Yep, they need some Leinstertaining.

They're arguably the best team in the NH at the moment, Scarlets, they'll be some good games hopefully. :)

Good interview from gibbes. Asked about disruption to the coaching set up and how the players said it was minimal he laughed and said it showed how easy they have it. Please God let that be the end of Warwick. His clear out (or lack thereof) led directly to 2 turnovers.

Admittedly I only watched the match on record and scanned through it but I thought it was an ok performance given who we had lining up. Certainly disjointed at times and some awful scores to concede but if it wasn't for the final try, I'd have marked that down as a positive day out.

He offers nothing outside the scrum but knock ons and conceding penalties at ruck time.
A perfect example of the type of player that we have in abundance and need rid of asap.

Herbst was abysmal as well, a big shakeup is needed in the front row.

Definitely a positive of Kieran Keane's reign so far is that a lot of squad players have got plenty of gametime, whether through rotation or injury. Decent depth developing.

An alternative XV to last night could have seen

Buckley
Heffernan
Bealham
Roux
Dillane
SOB 2.0
Heenan/Mckeon
Butler

Marmion
Carty
Adeolukun
Bundee
Ahki
Scholes
Leader

Still yet to find top gear under KK but he's definitely building a more competitive squad.

Is there a top division side out there, outside of the Italians and Pro14 South Africans that has such a mediocre pool of props as Ulster?

He offers nothing in the scrums either. Pure dirt, but is probably a good lad and someone in Ulster knows his granny so will be at Ulster for life.

The way things have went with Warwick has been pretty frustrating, I used to be quite fond of him, young player coming from the clubs giving his all.

There are still over 25 players out of contract at the end of the season

Brilliant piece by Murray Kinsella about Earls on The42 here.

Interviews by Mike Pendergast, TG4's John Broderick who was his coach in Munchins, and Ger Sla who was his captain. The video of the 2006 senior cup and Earls' try still guve me goose bumps 12 years later.
