Wouldn't think they're the most reliable of sources now, but hey I suppose you never know.

Contracts to rip up?
VDM
Deysel
Coetzee (Probably won't happen)
Marshall (Probably won't happen)
Warwick
Diack
Browne
Treadwell (Probably won't happen)
Herron (Already ripped up)
Niall Malone

Keep an eye on Kieran Campbell, the Ulster A team has been doing well but I remain sceptical about how he's handled certain things in the academy.

Forgot Rodney, but his contract should be up at this season and hopefully won't be renewed. I would consider throwing Herbst on the scrapheap as well.

Dalton has already played for Ulster at lock. He's a pretty special talent, in my humble opinion, future Irish international and maybe even further!!!!

Missing Ulster players include Lowry at 10 and Hume at 13, both of whom would be in contention to start. Clarke also missing at hooker???

Only Logan or this committee that they keep drumming on about on UAFC would have the power to do that. Cunningham surely, would not be any further up the ladder than Kiss?

If Les does go, I wonder should they take a risk with Gibbs or get someone else in. I have been less than impressed with Gibbs' impact on the pack.

The contracts i was specifically referring to were the NIQs but yeah. Deysel, VDM, Herron, Warwick absolutely. Wouldn't rip up Treadwell despite his form. Malone should go. Coetzee i think we need to take the chance with because we wont get anyone better but three well recruited NIQs would seriously help matters. Anderson seems to have a grip on the A's forwards who are by far the more polished unit. We need to pillage Leinster for Dooley and promote our A props. We need to integrate our backrows from a position of strength instead of throwing them in en masse

Murphy Timoney Jones/Dunleavy/Rea
Hall/Agnew Reidy Murphy
Coetzee Coetzee Reidy

are all decent backrows for the average Pro12 game. Do we add another lock or go for another backrow i don't know. The temptation with two NIQ backrowers may limit gametime for youngsters. Probably need an NIQ 10 but who is available? Did i read that LL's contract is up after super rugby.? Id take him back to mentor the young'uns and help cover centre which isn't as healthy as once was,

Outside of a couple of proven performers (Best, Hendie and maybe Herring and AOC), he's working with a bunch of bang average or outright poor guys (Black, Ah You, NDCR, etc) or guys who are still categorised as "having potential" (Rea, Timoney) who aren't yet the finished article.

He can only polish a turd so much.

I don't know how they train but if you looked at the A team theres some decent youngsters who look like Gibbes has had a bit of them. It does look like there are multiple forces (positive and negative) at work with the pack. When in the frame the rucking is much much better than its been in years. We do suffer from Best being the only threat over the ball. Henry just is succumbing to father time sadly

You hyped him more than that!

I’m in no position after my words on Greg O’Shea

But given Ulster’s track record with forwards and the fact so inexperienced. Don’t think we can put any player as “higher than Ireland” before even playing a 20s game.

Doris is a huge loss.

Dalton is the best prospect from Ulster, but not 100% sure he is even best prospect at 2nd row. Wait and see.

I expect them to struggle in the away games, but hopefully they can win the three home games.

With any u/a talent, there's always many a twist between cup and lip. Some lose interest, some reach their peak early. some get injured.

RBAI would have had 2 if Lowry and Hume were fit. Callum Reid, if he kept at it, wouldn't have been too far away either. The RABI FB, Joe Finnegan wouldn't have been far away either and O'Donnell would be there if not for his (aledged) fallout with Campbell. I expect Reid to be a star next year, as long as he keeps his involvement within the game.

Hume and Lowry locked in, had Reid just decided to join the academy then he would have been probably a guaranteed starter, Finnegan I think would have been in with a very good shot at it had he continued rugby, and had things worked out with O'Donnell he would have had an excellent chance of being in there.

Kiss is DOR and still the head coach, he selects the team.

Gibbes I believe was only named head coach as he had a clause in his Clermont contract that enabled him to be released for a Head coach role. He is essentially the forwards coach, only.

Is a big problem not the fowards but kiss is taking all the blame?

I agree he has to go but seems gibbes is getting off Scot free

I said when he signed, I used to listen to a podcast called ruggamatrix for years, the chap is the biggest spoofer I've ever heard in my life was never suited for a head coaches role, you could tell that just from the way he came across on the podcast
