Reidy has been called up by Joe regularly enough over the past couple of seasons and who cares if wouldn't start for the other 3 provinces (I'd debate that for Connacht) Dom Ryan certainly wouldn't, he got his token thank you cap from Joe and he's not been seen in green since just like Noel Reid.

Because he's really quite good and has been one of the few players to play consistently well for Ulster over that period?

Don't rate him. I'd agree with those saying he's bang average, or at least should never be within a whiff of an Ireland shirt considering the players we have about.

Wasn't offered a contract by Leinster, binned off after one season by Leinster, but that blue-specs-effect is still there.

Are you playing at 8.30 tonight might have a spare Irish international (full contact before army gets his knickers in a twist) available as we have no game and a few coming down for a run around.
Our game is on at 8.30!!! Our best player just pulled a sicky! I mentioned to C'er last week that we'd like to play you but I think he was organising a crack guerilla team to take you on? Is your new player a certain fast winger?
All other teams playing at 8.30 so they couldn't really guarantee a match for us so got no interest, so a few of us helping out another team to take on medics but could have too many. So will see how we are set tonight and if 3 subs would rather more gametime in another game- how many do you have? Will see tonight as normally someone always pulls out at last minute.

So you don't rate players who actually do deliver on the pitch? Interesting.

Is there anything you aren't ridiculously negative on outside of a few young prospects who we've actually yet to see play?

He's good enough for Ulster as things stand now but I would hope he hasn't much of a future as a starter for us.

I just struggle to see how you fit him into a well balanced backrow unless you've a freak like Coetzee on the go who can do everything.

And in 6 months time all we will hear is how it's a disgrace that Nordi isn't starting a 6/7 or 8 for Ireland and that is only because he now plays for Ulster.

Dom Ryan was a fine player for Leinster picking up over 100 caps at a time when we had Heaslip, Jennings, O'Brien, Ruddock etc knocking around. He just got passed out by better players, no shame in that. He never really got going with Leicester due to a bad concussion that he picked up in September.

What the fudge are we going to do until September?

We have a couple of Pro 14 games and then the 3 test series against Oz (much better than the Lions  ) and then nothing, a rugby wasteland for all of July and August.

Longford won't make the Super 8's so there isn't even that to look forward to.

I'm already dreading it.

jesus thats harsh. I'd agree he isnt a turnover machine but he makes his tackles, usually able to stop them, runs great support lines, has good hands and runs at soft shoulders which is something we seem to have been unable (thankfully) to coach out of him. Shouldn't get near a green shirt but very useful player. Lightyears ahead of Dom Ryan i have to agree.
