Yeah, dull as dishwater.
"yeah, great footballer, passes the ball well, boy I wouldn't like to tackle him down a dark alley at night, but you can understand why the ref allowed it, not to harp on about refs" etc. etc.
No real good rugby podcasts.
That molecast is cringey, Luke Fitz's ones are ok for the interviews sometimes (they tend to be a little less boring than the typical player interviews).

Brian Moore, his cadence is difficult to listen to. (trying to avoid being rude)

The Andy Goode one is the biggest twat bantercast I've ever heard.
Egg Chasers is often a gimped version of that.
I enjoy the Rugby Pod. I don't mind the Bantersaurus Rex delivery. It intentionally ramps up the nonsense, but Goode is still well able to play it straight and be serious to balance the Hamilton comedy act. It helps that I generally agree with Goode's opinions of current events.
Luke Fitz's one is quite good when they have a good guest. Fitz is a fairly shite interviewer and terrible commentator, but for his faults he's quite relaxed and it comes across in the way the various guests have a relaxed chat.
Must give Moore's a go.
Listened to the42's yesterday. Promising enough. Kinsella and Dunne area easy to listen to and there's probably a bit more technical stuff covered. Rob Kearney was boring as shite to listen to, mind you. Some interesting stuff to say about his game, but his voice is dreary and he's very economical with his words. Not very chatty. Might be better with different guests.

I suppose that's an advantage of the Left Wing, there's less of a "media interview" feel about it and it's more of a chat.

Flats and Shanks is pretty good as well if you like the Rugby pod. There is an Irish one which only heard of by accident when they guested on the Green and gold podcast prior to the Oz series. The 2nd Row with a Connacht and munster lad, they review all Pro 14 games (every one not just the Irish ones). The BBC one Rugby union weekly is decent as well.
Blood and Mud is not bad, don't really like the bit where they make up some rugby fan they have met.

yeah he saw his future at 2, Ulster didn't.. was the rumour
He was playing loose head for the Belvo 20s in the Prem 1 qualifiers.

They played Ethan Baxter at 2. Baxter playing 7 for them this weekend though
thought it odd that Baxter and McKee were at the same club.. maybe Baxter has given up on move from 7.

We had Baxter lined up to come to us - to play backrow - Leinster were like ..... " AIL 1 club.... play hooker"

I met him and everything.

Is there anything surprising about that?

Rob Kearney was always going to be slower to pick up caps due to his Irish involvement. McGrath is only on the boundaries of the Irish squad so his gametime wouldn't be restricted. Rory Scannell is in a similar position and has a similar number of caps.

Gut instinct is that playing the weekend immediately after a concussion is daft, but the medical types are happy and they're thorough these days.

Interesting attitudes, for the good. AOC saying that maybe he shouldn't be on the pitch, Hendie being very open about the RTP protocols and what they entail.

You have to trust the medics but I would have thought common sense would see you sit out a game if you had actual memory loss due to a bang.

It will be interesting to see if Leinster continue with SOB at 8. Considering the current strength at 7, would make sense for SOB to focus more at 6/8. Conan is a very good player, but he is the weakest member of the backrow and shifting SOB there could provide a big boost.

Stander will lose his jersey before Leavy.

IMHO, Leavy m, along with Ryan were Irelands best forwards during the 6 nations. Both machines. Everything done with such power and accuracy.

My mind changes every match at the moment. VdF was exceptional against Connacht last weekend. Leavy I think translates a bit better to international rugby and he had the 6N he had.

For basically all of last season only he was fit of the three of them, they're all fit now :smug:

Leinster and Irelands backrow options are unreal at the moment...I guess it has to do with everyone being fit.

Who do you bring to the world cup all fit? I think for me Conan's place is most at risk - which is why SOB might be getting tried out at 8...

8 - Stander, SOB
7 - Leavy,JVDF
6 - POM, ??

Who is our second 6? Does Ruddock make it? SOB as a 6 and Conan travels? Presume it is too late for SOB 2.0...he looks to have stepped up a bit this season but not in time for me...
