I'm assuming the Director's Cut will be more faithful to the reality.

Calm your panties. There were already contrary views being posted, anyone taking a side could be classed as 'contrary' by some passing killjoy.

Yep. In S1 it took 6 weeks to get from Kings Landing to Winterfell. In S7 it takes 15 minutes to sail from Iron islands to Eastwatch

I always found this criticism funny. You're OK with a show about dragons and an undead army but the fact that they skip the journey part of the story is the unbelievable part?
We've been through this before. It doesn't matter how fantastical the setup to your show/book is, the important aspect is that you are internally consistent with whatever rules you've set out. Otherwise, as is the case here (and certainly with the seemingly supersonic bird and dragon to save John Snow) you either end up creating contrived dues ex machina's, or, (if you haven't correctly set out revised timscales between scenes) the appearance of one.

The way I see it, whether you buy into the extended timescale argument or not, the show has failed everyone as it doesn't matter whether you responded to those scenes with a "WTF! That happened too quickly" or "Ah, so they are now extending timescales between scenes"....both scenario's will have taken you out of the story in that moment, which is the ultimate sin of any piece of entertainment.

You know what I always hated about the movie cannonball run? It should have been a four day film, rather than cutting everything into 90minutes of hijinks. I really wanted to see them crossing the Oklahoma plains eating Cheetos and staring at the road for hours.

It's almost like a movie based on the most famous invasion of all time can assume people know how they got to the French coast

Yes because there are literally no ways in movies or TV shows to show the passage of time besides literally keeping a real time element.

I just watched Dad Boot. They say things like "it will take two days full steam to reach the ambush point"

When the next scene shows them at the ambush point you know two days have passed. Well you know of you're not some Aussie thicko.

Maybe we could just have the grandpa from the Princess Bride narrate it for you, as you've obviously got your potato brain all mixed up. Poor dear.

which Game of Thrones birds actresses do you think would be the best shag ?

I reckon its a 3 way (pun intended) between Clopper out Cersei / Lena Hadley, Maisie 'lots of Deepfake vids of me' Williams, and the milfy mom from Dorne whose character name I've forgotten. (EDIT - Indira Varma, also got her biff out in 'Rome' I think, on work PC so can't confirm Biffage)

dumpy wooden Emilia Clarke gets my vote for probably the most disappointing ride

Are you kidding? It's Myranda all day and night long. Only problem is you might well not live to tell anyone about it.

For safer options, I'd take any of Ygritte, Osha or Marge.

Roz, clearly. Nathalie Emmanuel looks like she'd be great, but it would be a terrible ride given I'd last about 20 seconds.

The Sandsnakes, the Dornish "not the eyes" one, The Red Witch etc...
GoT is not exactly lacking in this area, apparently

Irri? Or was she the darker coloured one who was murdered when they stole the dragons?

I feel like this coming season needs more gratuitous scenes of women teaching the dark arts to other women.
