Keep it traditional:

(1) Kehoes
(2) McDaids
(3) O' Donoghues

If you want a late night bar Go to No Name Bar.
A stag in no name? Go to coppers

Come at me.
The upstairs area/balcony bar in the Jar is very good if you can get it booked.

The Liquor Rooms freaks me out. Ceilings are too low and I don't like how there's curtains and shit everywhere.

No Name bar is far too packed to the tits usually to be comfortable for a stag.

Great place to bring female company though. Very dear mind.

Not a bad list. Liquor Rooms should be good. Was in the No Name Bar last weekend and it was better than I remember it to be. Never been to a private thing there though. Have heard good things about the Jar. Can't go wrong with the beer selection in Against the Grain. Hot staff too. Bit more down and dirty overall, assuming your mate doesn't mind that.
Cheers.

Binge, The Jar fell off the list because it's always like a sardine can. Nice place though, I like it.

We decided on Pyg but I'm sure people will move later on. Should be good. Thanks for the shouts!

What's the name of the new restaurant at the end of Ranelagh, where An Bhialann used to be? Think it was mentioned a while back. Any good?

Nightmarket.

It's Thai, run by a Cork guy and his Thai wife who previously had a restaurant on Capel Street.

It's fine, I've eaten there twice, and no doubt will go again, as it's now on our rota of neighbourhood restaurants (which An Bhialann never achieved).

I see there is a Bunsen there now across the road. Have to give that a whirl over the weekend.

Have you been to Wow Burger? It's nicer.

Bunsen obviously trying to compete hard there, and tbf they're doing a decent job.

Frequently and skillfully.

I haven't been to either. Good to know.

I've heard Wow Burger is the greasier, less healthy option which is how I like my burgers but the missus has other ideas.

I think Camroc you could be our Globus. Except there would be at least an element of truth in Camroc's lavish lifestyle.

Wow must be making money hand over fist, it's never empty. One of the very few in Ranelagh I've not tried.

The Brazillian BBQ place Rio Rodizio has closed down and Savills are now looking for € 135k pa rent for it !

Very difficult for any restaurant, I'd have thought especially a new non-franchise.

 they're both pretty greasy but that's why you get a burger isn't it?

Both are by far the best burgers in Dublin.

Rio Rodizo gone? Good. Thought it was very poor and overpriced when I was last there. And I asked for a pint and I see the guy pouring from a can behind the bar.

Not a terrible rent for that kind of locale.

Now to hope for some spectacular difficulties with the lease and a trip to a solicitor.

On a more pressing note - best delivery food for Ballsbridge for a hangover? Not in a good way at all.

Rent in Ranelagh is becoming prohibitive for new independent places. It's why so many places are unexpectedly failing and you still have a number of empty units. Rathmines is starting to wipe the floor with it.

Rathmines is following Ranelagh upmarket - Fallon and Byrne is due to open over the summer FFS.

I think Richmond Street/Camden Street/Wexford Street/Aungier ST is where the better independent restaurants are now opening up.
