Ah once you get the hang of it, it's easy enough. It's fun more than difficult.

Anyone who has been contemplating signing up for Humble Bundle Monthly and hasn't done it, think now is the time.

It's switching to a new thing called "Humble Choice" where you can choose the games you want from the games offered each month. But if you have the "classic" plan (i.e. you were subscribed prior to it switching), you get all 10 games (2 more than current) for less than what you'd pay for the choice of 3.

3 games per month = $134 a year
9 games per month = $180 a year
10 games per month on Grandfathered class plan = $132 a year

$132 for 120 games a year is pretty decent value.

The game quality has nosedived this year, though.

9 was properly amazing for its time. I'd say it would still be worth a playthrough with the up-to-date version that has speed up/cheats/no random battle options.

I f**king hated 13, nearly felt betrayed or something that a series I liked so much put out such a shit game.
9 is so great as playthrough 18 yrs later. I have clocked 18hrs in no time

I finished it, but with effort

It is my brother's favourite by a longshot

My list is

1) FF7
2) FF10
3) FF9

4) FF8
FF7
FF10
FF8 - I quite liked it but appreciate why others don't.

Found FF9 interesting at the start but it got quite dull later.

Yes, thought ffix was notably weaker whenever you left the mist continent. Though I quite liked how the world map hid the new continents before you discovered them.

I like CK2, but it's got a crazy learning curve.

Stellaris is decent, and seemingly completely changes every new update.

All of their games are very heavy on DLC, but they engage well with the community and modders etc.

I just started playing Stellaris again a few weeks back, I actually enjoy it, but needs a lot of time to play which can be difficult. Also tried it on Xbox when it became available as a free game last month. Quite a few differences between the desktop version and the console version.

I would think CK2 is probably the easiest one to get into. It’s not a game you really can win or lose. So you can just bumble around, having plenty of fun while learning the mechanics for a proper attempt in next game.

It’s paradox finest one imo.

This might fill an hour or so at work for a few people. BBC 3 are doing a series on video game soundtracks. It's pretty good so far (and there's no geo-restrictions on it.)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0009rfn

Edit: That's BBC Radio 3, and it's available as a podcast, not the online BBC3 tv station. The show's available for 29 days from today.

Loved that series, but (aside from a spin-off with some of the supporting characters) I don't think they're making more.
The latest gen Tomb Raider games are unsurprisingly a similar style to uncharted but a bit darker. Not quite as shooty or filled with cinematic set-pieces but enjoyable.

Yep. It does what it says on the packet. Just like every other game mode. The total war mode (copied straight from Battlefield) was chaotic and controlling vehicles was a mess.

I enjoyed it because I used to play CoD years ago on a shitty ADSL2+ connection of 2-3mbps. I'd get hammered all the time and lagged heaps. Now my PS4 is plugged directly into our new cable router which is 100mbps. My K/D ratio is finally above 1!
it's been released now. Have had it since launch day but not been able to play much (and take a frightful hammering when I do). Pretty decent though, I'd say the best since MW2

I'm really enjoying it. Hit Level 50 last night. Amazing what a great internet connection can do!

For the last week or so the 725 double barrel shotgun was so overpowered. Guys were sniping people with it. They've since nerfed it which is great. Current weapons of choice are a close to maxed out PKM LMG, the M4 and an MP5. I have two versions of the LMG. One with a big scope and a long barrel for nailing snipers on large maps and the other with a short stubby barrel, huge clip and all the trimmings. I can run nearly as fast as I can with a smaller gun. It's great for flag maps where I can hold down a sustained burst of fire.

Big PKM fanboy here. Haven't maxed out yet though, but enjoying ripping teams apart with a suppressor and Ghost perk.

What perks/ mods are you using so you keep your speed up? Switch to a pistol for running, maybe? I'm carrying a rocket launcher as my secondary so when I have people pinned down behind cover with my heavy fire I just switch to that and blast them

I have two PKM classes. My long range one is a heavy sumbitch but I usually find a good spot and lay down fire. I have an optic scope on it with grips that give me range and stability. I'm carrying a launcher with that one as well (usually something to blast planes out of the sky). Nothing better than picking off snipers on that bridge map.

The run and gun LMG has the short stubby barrel and grips that sacrifices range for ADS speed and hipfire accuracy. Have a little holo scope on that as well. I get nailed when quickdrawing against SMGs but I can hold my own. It's a great gun for holding down a HQ or flag though. Find a corner and hold down spray. My secondary is a pistol so I equip that when running.

Loved 8 actually.

Haven't been able to finish 15, must give it another go.

Would echo everything said about 9 here, brilliant game and story. I really loved 12 as well.

Would be 7, 9, 12, 8 in orders of favourites for me. The sentimentality of 7 just gets me.

I am back in Lindblum now after Eiko and Garnet summoned Alexander to repel Kuja's attack. Good thing Garland stepped in to prevent Kuja taking control of Alexander

Must look at getting it again, having read about it again I'm getting a serious dose of nostalgia. Vivi is such a brilliant character.

Edit: looks like you can get a few of the FF series for ps4 through the PlayStation store

Double edit: Jesus just remembering 13. What a load of garbage. Such a frustrating repetitive game.

Got sucked into rimworld again. Middle difficulty, some quality of life mods. Never actually finished it before so trying again now.

Had my most versatile colonist in devilstrand, flak and a marine helmet. He got tapped on the head by a poor wooden mace and his head basically exploded. Dead in one shot. Thankfully I'd found a resurrection serum not long before, but i wasn't planning on using it on something so silly.

They're fairly pricey on the virtual stores, though they've been remastered as far as I'm aware.
9 is the only one I'm interested in playing again, played 7 too much already.

The remake honestly has me nervous, it's not looking great and it being multi part is making me a bit blech about it.

Yeah I finished it.
It's quite shallow really, seems people are really desperate to big up Obsidian and rub it in Bethesda's face.
So much so that they ignore the game's flaws, of which there are many.

It's a solid like 6/10 game.

One of the most awesome games. If you like that check out Project Zomboid too. They're basically the only two games I play (and both prove the game is more important than the graphics).

I liked playing Rimworld starting from absurd conditions. Like one starving character with zero equipment in the desert. And then just seeing what I can do. Mostly they die without doing much but on a few occasions I've managed to build up a serious fort with a lot of colonists. Really nice when you start with scraps.

Project Zomboid is just the best and just underwent a major update. Anyone who likes serious survival games will love it.

I've finished it. There was a lot of good but I don't know how they left it balanced the way it was. Items are all over the place and utterly useless, ammo is so plentiful you never need to worry, and when you upgrade your weapons a bit you just become a murder machine. If you put a lot of points in your lying/sneaking/hacking/persuasion type skills you can talk your way out of everything. Thought it was a decent 7/10 but by the end I just wanted to be done with it.

Hi Nerds,

My PS3 has packed in and am keen to buy a new console basically to play Fifa, GTA and watch Sky TV through using my parent’s login :smug:
I’m not interested in any heavy gaming like what you’s are probably in to but would like to be on the same platform as any new GTA is likely to be on.

With that in mind my questions are:

1) When is the next GTA coming out?
2) Should I get a PS4 or when are the next gen of consoles due out?

Cheers
