Posted this morning, and whilst not OK he seems to have got over his previous thoughts.

Yupp, the one from last night was taken down I think. He's with family now and a number of people have made contact. He even took the step to call the suicide helpline today...so doing better, he's reaching out.

Hell yeah. I like Trogs. Very good poster.

I obviously missed all of this, but brings back memories of the Auckland lad a couple of years back that "the village" helped out on.

Was there an event that has upset Trogs? No need to go into details if it's not what he would want.

I think he's ok right now. As best as he can be.

The happy ending at the bottom of the rainbow is what I hope for.

If you are monitoring this Trog, there are a pile of people out there utterly rooting for you.

Great to hear - I was looking for my thread this am to get an update but it had already been removed. to Saffer and the others involved who were able to make contact. Great to hear he is at least in a bit better place this a.m.

Let's just say there were a couple irritated/confused boere that received a "cold call" last night in that area

As someone who has been in trogs situation a few times I'd be absolutely mortified if their were threads on the internet discussing it. I know this is done with the best of intentions but I feel it would be best to let it drop, especially considering what happened last time and what the man himself has posted.

I see your point now that we have "moved past" what was the darkest time. That being said, at the time, no holds barred to get help was required.

I've certainly got a long....very long way to go. I'm in a very dark space right now. Have been for the last 3 years, but the last 2 weeks pushed me over the edge. Sunday night was the one that pushed me over the cliff. Scariest of all, the Sunday night issue turned out to be a massive misunderstanding/miscommunication, yet even after clearing that up, it didn't do much to get me out of my current hole. The other 99% of the stuff is still there unfortunately.

I have phoned the suicide helpline, who - admittedly much to my surprise - was extremely helpful (only Saffas would know why this would be surprising). Quite a lot of stuff needs to happen from here, I might even spend a couple of nights in a padded cell. Although this might be a last resort, I may be treated as an out-patient if the assessment is favourable in this regard. Extra medical attention is needed; my current anti-deppro meds might actually be a aggravating factor, as I've been on them way too long and it turns out these meds are only supposed to be taken over a 3-6 months period, not a 5 year period as is the case right now. A change in prescription has already been recommended, I need to see my GP about this. Also been put in contact with self-help groups.

Had my brother here. Some may know our relationship has been strained somewhat due to his (in my and most family member's view) "problematic drinking" (let's not use that 'a' word right now). Still, we are brothers, blood ties and all that, and him and my sister-in-law were quite a help. Discussing this issue was certainly worth the while - and dare I say might even have given him a little push regarding his own demons.

Then of course there are, in no particular order:
1) Yank13 who phoned me up at 3am. Me, being in a state of semi-unconsciousness, seem to recall a weird discussion about some bloke asking me something about "the bored". I vaguely remember telling him I'm not Johan. Or something to that effect, not sure. When I woke at 5am, the first thought I had for the morning was: this bloke I spoke to....his name was <Yank13's-real-name>.

2) Sards. We've had our uhmm.....misunderstandings here in the past, but speaking to him on the phone, I can honestly tell you guys: top bloke.

3) HK. Did a helluva lot that I am aware of.

4) The numerous other boredies, some who I'm still trying to figure out who's who....on FB, emails, even Skype.


Once again, I need to reiterate, please don't see this as a look-at-me effort by me. I certain am in a dark place, and actually unintentionally mentioned something in a mod discussion after I had a run-in with one of the mods. This escalated, still not sure how, to just about everybody, from my family to the Freemasons phoning me. I need all this help, honestly, and even more so I truly appreciate the efforts and concerns by all.


Despite my claim about it not being a look-at-me attempt, but in fact genuine problem which happened to make it onto PR, I have no issues with threads about it remaining. Not because I'm an attention whore, but it does help me sometimes just reading the concerns (this may sound stupid I know), it does give me the opportunity to thank people who REALLY have gone out of their way to help a "stranger", and dare I say this, it may even be as useful for other people in this situation....much like the AA thread has been on PR.

I may not be there yet, but I do see some light. Unfortunately, as depression sufferers might know, this situation may change within seconds. I just need another surprise blow and I may be back to where I was last night. Right now, I've moved on a bit. With the help of so many on here. Just the thoughts and concerns have sent positive vibes my way. And dear God I can use that right now.

So, in summary: I'm okayish for now. Long road ahead. But I took the first step. Due to actions by PR boredies who I've never met in person. Shows you, there are angels in the most unforeseen places.

PS. I may not be as active for the foreseeable future. And may sometimes during the next few months post a lot of gibberish (causing some to believe I may be an AC multi). But just....thanks.

So glad to hear from you trog. If you feel like talking to a stranger let me know - saw some comments on your facebook through some mutual friends while trying to track an update after last night. I say stranger and offer it because sometimes it's easier to talk to someone with no preconceived notions.

Regardless, glad to hear you've support around you, that's the most important thing.
