I was driving home one Christmas day and a bloke walked out like that. Looked at me and then kept walking straight infront of the car. I never fully stopped, so I started to go round him on the median strip (the road was otherwise empty) and he flipped me off. I still didn't react, other than to smirk at him - at which point he swung a full blown right hook at my car as I went past. I wasn't really in the mood to get in a Xmas arvo throw-down with a tanked up, 120kg Island bloke, so I drove up the road a bit and stopped to assess damage. His fist print was imprinted on the side of my car - but fortunately only in the dirt and grime, as he had managed to land the punch square on the join of the two doors. I suspect his knuckle bones were left looking like a dropped box of chalk.

Dalton's films are kind of under-rated. They're a bit direct to DVD in terms of look, casting and some of the directing & acting is really bad, but the plots are good and he's actually pretty good. They suffered from being on the heels of the worst of Roger Moore's wink wink borderline Carry On Bond who couldn't do anything physical cause he was 85, but I'd have loved to see what Dalton could have done with a decent budget and director.

I did that when I was about 10. Was late for piano lessons, got dropped off by my minibus from school and just legged it around the back of the bus and straight across the road...where another minibus hit me square on and sent my flying across the road. I got up, and hobbled off towards the lesson.

f**ked my ankle up, and bruised my chest...but otherwise was unscathed.

Were there any survivors?

I always thought The Living Daylights was one of the better films - had everything you could want in a Bond film; perhaps a little too silly at times (overdoes the gadgets and outrunning ski troops on a chello case!), but nothing on Moore’s films and it actually had a pretty good plot.

Amazing. On the second one how/why did they form it?
It appears they can climb up the wall and upside down on the ceiling, so why not just attack from the ceiling? Is it because they had to carry food back which is heavier and they risk falling off under greater weight or just saves time? Be interested to see how that formed. I loved how they self reinforced that u-turn area. Assuming two separate lines dropped and then they joined in the middle. Did it keep breaking in the middle and through trial and error they succeeded or is it group knowledge (i.e. from historic trial and error) and it worked first time? How did the length of the drop be determined? And is there an engineering calc that would determine they are pretty accurate their innate know-how is? All questions we can't get an answer for here unfortunately.

They can't carry the load (presumably wasp eggs) if they're walking upside down.

I remember how long it took for the local liquor store to get rid of the smell after the Christchurch quakes.

Still, I got a great deal on some wine with damaged labels that had been soaked through after sitting in the broken mess.

You’d be forgiven for assuming that this video was the work of a talented animator, a visual effects artist, or an illusionist. But the only magic at play here is magnets and a magnificent execution of miniaturized robotics. This is a real Rubik’s Cube that can completely solve itself while floating in mid-air.
