They really should consider telling you how they kill people on the image. Maybe in small text in brackets after the name of the animal.

Yes, yes I saw that. Didn't really want to Google all that. It could be Latin for Really stupid French gastronomes ingest the snails, resulting in being able to shit through a screen door and drowning in bile, followed by an excruciating death.

I see.

So do they eat them? Or do these snails crawl up urethras and lay eggs? Do they swarm like pirhanas and sting?

I'm going to need to post a picture shortly...

As it says in the image, snails are responsible for spreading schistosomiasis (or bilharzia), a particularly nasty disease, which can cause liver damage, kidney failure, infertility, or bladder cancer., and ultimately death. It can also cause poor growth and learning difficulties in children (who are often the most likely to catch the disease). The disease is spread by contact with fresh water contaminated with parasites released from infected freshwater snails.

The Bill Gates Foundation has been funding treatment in sub-saharan africa for several years.

I could look again, but instead I'll just work on the assumption that they go in through the anus.

Bill Gates must be one of the greatest humans alive. His work is seriously underrated.

Although I question the 50k killed by snakes.

Have no idea why, but there is something about pics of custom motorcycles that make me want to do terrible things to my Santa Fé and tell the Mrs that she gets the 'big' family car in future because I'm off to become an organ-donor-in-waiting.

Overly cynical, judging by a google image search.

Very little chance of that, he's under the breaking wave not in it.. so he's only going to pass through the wave quickly as it breaks over him, not get carried with it and tumbled which is where the really bad injuries occur. It's not a big wave, only just over his head and he's crouching... you'd dive through that ok I reckon.

Looking at this old buffer you would expect his tie to be a regimental one, I don't recognise it but it does have a 'Rifles' air to it.

Looks quite like the Royal Green Jackets:

Edit - heh, the bored can't cope with something that looks like BBCode in an image URL. Here's one you can click:

Though his has a thicker red band.

It's a while since I did chemistry, but wouldn't sticking vinegar in alkalised water just give you ph neutral water that tasted funny?

I assume he hates himself and that's one way he punishes himself. Or maybe he needs it for the 'activated almonds'

I think you are right - but he looks a bit too establishment for the RJG - weren't they supposed to be a bit free spirited and a bit off the wall?
