After a year or two near the top Madibaz has gone down. I assume it is linked to EP's financial problems and that they can't recruit the youngsters

Yep Maties doing very well. A very balanced side. What I have liked about this year more than others is that just about any team has a chance of winning on any day. No easy games. Great to see Tuks with the massive Bulls support and "fake" degrees getting beaten by UJ.

Looks worse on TV. Yep, water restrictions and the lack of water having an effect on the grass. Congrats to Maties, they are a strong and well balanced team and should walk away with the cup.

Was a bit upset today when I took the car for a services and they cant wash it.

Totally forgot to watch the game, did record it and will watch it later.

Think Hawies is a good coach.

Yes, he is a pretty good coach. Just looking at the warm ups of the teams you could see a more professional attitude/routine on the Maties side. I sat with Maties no 15's father (Craig Barry) and he was giving me some insights into Maties rugby. Also sat behind Kolisi and Scarra but the TV cameras were in their faces most of the game and it was a bit distracting. It was like watching a semi professional team playing an amateur team. We have some youngsters coming through who will be better next year.

Two former Western Province schools stars were the heroes for Wits on Monday night as they stunned defending Varsity Cup champions NWU-Pukke in Potchefstroom.

Flyhalf Gianni Lombard and centre Manuel Rass played prominent roles in Western Province’s victorious 2016 Craven Week campaign, and on Monday night they proved their worth in the Varsity Cup as Wits won 22-13 (half-time 7-13).

The SA Schools stars were bought by the Golden Lions last year and their first crack at senior rugby is for their university in the Varsity Cup.

Lombard contributed 12 points, including a try, while Rass came off the bench to score a try as Wits claimed a famous win.
