My sense was of an odd, rambling kind of weekend in Super Rugby, with one legit upset (Bulls over Saders) and another mild surprise (Landers over Stomps). That was how I was expecting it to happen, I haven't seen what the bookies were saying.

  • The Chiefs continue to get away with their penalty-laden game style, with SBW and Cherry Blossom Michael Leitch leading the way.
  • The Shorks ground out a much needed win in Natal over Higgers and the Force, led by tries from SP Marais and Lwazi Mvovo.
  • Schalk Burger had a stormer for the Stormers in his 100th SR appearance, but they fell to the Clan and suddenly seem a little tarnished after their brave start to the campaign.
  • George Moala, who has sentencing for a serious assault incident hanging over his head, was the top performer for the Blues as they fell to the Tahs who look better each week.
  • The Canes continue undefeated (though some might argue they have haven't really been tested yet). Backrowers Callum Gibbins of Manawatu and Victor Vito led the way.

  • Three of the seven matches had a MotM from the losing side.

The Updated In Form Position Lists:

  • The Brumbies were on their bye week and they have many players in the list, all of who naturally slipped a bit. Only Nic White held his top spot from them.
  • Many Springboks were also rested, which saw them lose a bit of ground also.
  • There is a new leader on the prop, hooker, centre and wing lists.
  • Four of the five South African franchises have their fullback in the top ten. With only the Cheetahs missing. :?
  • Tahs 3, Chiefs 2, Bulls, Lions, Brumbies, Highlanders, Sharks have one top player each.
  • Matt Symons claims top lock spot days after signing a deal to return to England to play with London Irish after Super Rugby ends.
