The thing is I know exactly how the conversation would go if you pointed out to them the problems with her t-shirt..

I'm going to make a possibly incorrect assumption and say she was brought up in a deeply religious family/community and didn't have a chance to formulate her own views. Poor girl.

That did cross my mind too. What does the small writing say?

There is religious stuff in the background too though.

I suppose there’s an argument for encouraging pro-plaguers to wear these slogans. Lepers’ bells.

Death toll in Samoa measles crisis rises to 22
Harrison Christian
19:17, Nov 23 2019

The Minister for Pacific Peoples has been fielding a flood of questions from the Samoan community in New Zealand about whether it's safe to go back home for Christmas during a measles outbreak.
Samoa remains in the grip of a measles crisis, with 22 deaths now confirmed, according to local reports.

The death toll could rise further, with 11 children reported critically ill from the disease in the Pacific island nation.

The Samoa Observer said on Friday two people had died from measles in the past 24 hours.

The deaths are from 1797 measles cases that have been recorded since the outbreak started.

All schools in Samoa have closed and children were banned from public gatherings after the Government declared a state of emergency.

Last week, Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters announced the Government was sending measles vaccines and nurses to Samoa to aid in the outbreak.

New Zealand had already responded to earlier requests from Samoa for medical supplies, including face masks, gowns, hand sanitiser and stretcher-beds.

Death rate seems abnormally high. You'd wonder is there some other factor at play here.

At any rate if mothers never had the disease themselves they're probably not passing immunity on to their infants for the first nine months or whatever it is.

Not sure what you are saying here?

Are you saying that this is not measles as reported? Confirming that vaccinated parents, by not vaccinating their children are putting their children at risk? That vaccinating is the cause due to lowering natural immunities???

I'm confused.

The success of measles vaccination has made people forget why it needed a vaccine in the first place.

I am old enough to have gone through early childhood before measles vaccine was widely available where I live. So I got measles, like so many others my age.

It wasn’t until I worked at Challenor Centre that I realised what measles could do. There were people there - some older than me and some younger - who had suffered catastrophic brain damage via measles.

According to the Cancer Research UK, 99.8% of cervical cancer is preventable due to the HPV vaccine. What sort of argument do they put forward to suggest that is bad?
After 10 years of the girls programme in the uk, public health England says diagnoses of genital warts have declined by 90% in 15-17 year old girls and 70% in 15-17 year old boys. Programme is being expanded to include all boys too this year.
Genital warts are caused by fúcking toads. Filthy habit. No sympathy here,

The latest BMJ’s cover is given over to fighting the pro-plaguers.

What has it come to when the world’s leading medical journal feels the need to promote the cause of childhood vaccination?

I think it’s time to start prosecuting and locking up pro-plaguers as threats to global health. If there aren’t any laws to do that, we should pass some.

The worldwide surge in deadly measles outbreaks is showing no sign of abating, with nearly 10 million cases and 142,000 deaths last year, according to new estimates, and three times more cases reported so far this year than at the same stage in 2018.

One out of four million?

With around 53,000 deaths so far, that would suggest that you believe at least 212 billion people have contracted the virus.

I suspect your numbers may be slightly out.

Using 8bn and 50000 deaths, the current rate is 1 out of every 160000 has died from it.

Best case scenario is 1 in every 8000 without a vaccine or proper treatment.

NZ, I assume. Population of 4.9M, one Cov-19 death.

Apparently NZ is more typical than, say, Vietnam with 80M and (cough) no deaths or Andorra with 77K and 15 deaths.

In other news, Couch gets to hang out with the other mongs and arsewipes on my Ignore list. Life is too short to etc etc...

just on the anti vax stuff, (I don't know the details as my wife deals wit this) but there is one vaccine that my kids have been medically exempt from due to egg allergy, as its made from eggs. We let them have other vacines, but there is one they just shouldn't have, and the school always chases us about it each year as a certain box isn't ticked.

does that put me in the anti vax brigade then or not ?

No, the antivaxers put your kids at greater risk by potentially allowing a greater spread of the illness, meaning your vulnerable kids aren't sheltered by the herd.
