What people who claim they just want people to be able to make an informed choice actually want is for people is people to ignore the information supported by actual data to instead choose the information that support the position the want to be true.

That and, when it comes to vaccines, selfishness.

Yes, there is a risk taking a vaccine. Not a massively high one for serious side effects. But the alternative is way more suffering.

It's the equivalent of the decision to save one person or 1000s depending on whether you swerve or not but that person is your child and they might actually come out of the accident unscathed because they have somewhere to jump and can see you coming.

Thing is the vaccine, in the vast majority of cases, make the person receiving it safer too.

Having some anti-vaxxer poke their head into PR from time to time is kinda handy tbh, it illustrates how piss-poor and dishonest their 'arguments' are, how reliant they are on utterly discredited 'studies' etc... and generally gives everyone a bit of practice at spotting the nutjob, shutting them down and ensuring they don't manage to do any real damage.

It's almost like a small dose of just such a troll as that one has successfully vaccinated PR in case of a genuine invasion of such germs.

There's a reader poll on the journal.ie today about whether unvaccinated kids should be banned from school.
https://www.thejournal.ie/children-who- ... 8-Mar2019/

Against my better judgement I went and checked the comments. x(
While largely sensible, there are some absolute morons in there.

Picked one random pro-plague example who makes some comment about filling your kids full of chemicals and clicked through to her FB page.
A selection of stories she's shared include mobile phones causing cancer, and bemoaning the Irish housing crisis while attacking banks/developers. She also works for a fucking medical devices company.

This reinforced my firmly held belief that people should have to pass some form of questionnaire before being allowed internet access.

Ok kids. This has been a blast but the low level of intellect on this thread is starting to get tedious. So, I’m gonna cut and run.
But, before doing so, on a serious note, I’m not anti vax. I believe that everyone should be able to choose whether to vaccinate or not to.

But, before anyone vaccinates themselves or their precious children, they should have informed consent ( they should be provided with the vaccine insert and given details of all ingredients and possible side effects; pros and cons of each vaccine - for example, does a baby really need Hep B for a disease we are told drug addicts, prostitutes etc are at higher risk of contracting).

In addition, everyone should look up “ children injured by vaccines”. And also, have a read of info put out by: GreenMedicalInfo, dr Suzanne Humphries, Robert Kennedy jnr; Del Bigtree (Vaxxed), Larry Cook, Ty and Charlene Bollinger - the truth about vaccines. There are numerous others, but that is enough.

Check out what the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 was about. Does that seem right to you? Check out the Vaccine Court in America. A hard Court to get heard in. Any payouts????

And once you have done the above, then if vaccines are still your thing, go for it. But don’t expect everyone to have to vaccinate their kids and themselves.
And don’t use the “oh, the poor immune compromised kids / people bs”. The shedding from someone who has been vaccinated is more dangerous than an unvaccinated kid.

Farewell! 😂😂🤪😉😉😉

Coward.

Typical pro-plaguer.....cut and run when your 'oh so clever' use of word salad and opinion based blogs is shot down.

Another case of faux intelligence.......bye.

Good analogy, bit of target practice is always handy

Italian Anti-vaxxer-in-chief came down with the measles.

https://www.news-medical.net/news/20190 ... enpox.aspx

Not sure what the Italian word for Schadenfreude is, but it'd definitely be very, very wrong to have a bit of a giggle about this one and you should all feel very ashamed of yourselves for doing so.

A mumps outbreak is happening among students at two universities in Nottingham, health officials have confirmed.

More than 220 people are already believed to have been infected with the virus, which can trigger deadly meningitis if it spreads to the brain.

Public Health England has said young people who weren't vaccinated as children are most 'vulnerable' to the infection.

Vaccines don't stop you getting illnesses.

Let's use a rugby analogy.

Team Brian, Team Bill and Team Virus have never played against each other. Team Virus however has played against a lot of very similar teams to Team Brian and Team Bill, and know what to expect.

Team Brian's coach decide they're fine going into the game blind. They get their arses kicked by Team Virus.

Team Bill's coach decides to hire Team Vaccine to train against. Team Vaccine are basically a load of injured players from Team Virus, not a perfect match for the real thing, not very likely to put up much of a score, but give Team Bill a very good idea on how to play them, and what to expect. Team Bill play Team Virus, and do fairly well, since they know what's coming, they react much faster to Team Virus's tactics.

WTF?

It's a bit convoluted but still accurate.

Your body is given a benign strain of the virus so it can be taught how to fight it. As a result most people don't even know they've got the virus because their body kills it instantly and more importantly doesn't spread it to people with lowered immune systems who would be incapable of either getting the vaccine or fighting off the virus properly.

Whoa! That’s sure as hell the ‘short version’.
You skipped a few key points such as what the virus is grown on (all sorts of shite, monkey kidney cells, aborted foetuses etc), the adjuvants used (aluminium is good for humans, esp. wee babies, right?), the preservatives used (formaldehyde and Carbolic acid), that special lipids are used in some (can incite autoimmune in the brain), that MSG is used in some (a brain excitotoxin), that thimerosol (Mercury) was used until the late 90’s, that the jab goes straight into the arms, legs etc, so bypasses the bodies natural filter (liver).
I could go on, but my point is that you need to do better with your explanations or otherwise people in the know will think that you really don’t know much about the subject! ;)

It isn't mercury though is it you fucking retard. Or do you think table salt is chlorine or sodium?

Mind numbing.

Quote:
Rockland County, on the Hudson River north of New York City, has barred unvaccinated children from public spaces after 153 cases were confirmed.

Violating the order will be punishable by a fine of $500 (£378) and up to six months in prison.

Tuesday's announcement follows other outbreaks of the disease in Washington, California, Texas and Illinois.

Vaccination rates have dropped steadily in the US with many parents objecting for philosophical or religious reasons, or because they believe misleading information that vaccines cause autism in children.

"We will not sit idly by while children in our community are at risk," Rockland County Executive Ed Day said in a statement.

"This is a public health crisis and it is time to sound the alarm."

Maybe more crises like this will remind people that every medical interventions involves risk/benefit analysis. No one would claim that vaccines are risk free, but this reminds us that not being vaccinated is risky too. As effective preventative medicine vaccines are right up there with exercise and not smoking, and a lot better than raw vegetable shakes and flora margarine.

I've heard that adding aloe to a raw vegetable shake boost the preventive capabilities.

Just reading a story about a couple that are "considering" not vaccinating their future child, they say they aren't pro-plaguers but asking the same debunked questions that they do online, they say they have been doing research and that it's good to read all view points.

Google really does need to whack whopping great big disclaimers on any sites that are peddling lies about vaccines as stupid people believe stuff with fancy words and pseudo-scientific doctors.

Routinely vaccinating British schoolgirls against the HPV virus has led to a dramatic reduction in cervical disease in later life, research suggests.

All schoolgirls in the UK have been offered the human papillomavirus vaccine at the age of 12 or 13 since 2008.

The new study of 138,000 women in Scotland shows the programme has cut rates of abnormal cervical cells - one of the warnings signs of cervical cancer - by nearly 90 per cent.

They hope that in time they will be able to prove it has also cut rates of cervical cancer but the full impact will not be known until the girls who have been vaccinated enter their late 20s and 30s.

Things like this don't help but the swine flu vaccine was rushed in response to what many thought at the time was a serious threat to the population. As such you have to look at it from a risk/reward perspective.
