Bands you are off to see live

Just grabbed a ticket to see Def Leppard in November, with special guests Live which got me to thinking about other bands that will be seen in the near future.

Iron Maiden are on a world tour early next year so there is another one and lest we forget Black Sabbath are on tour in the same time period. There should be a new Metallica album and tour next year as well.

Its happy days for Bogans 8)

Would like to catch the Maiden tour in Japan, if it happens to fall into a decent window when I'm in the area next year.

Might go to Sabbath as well if the tour pulls through SEA and it's fairly cheap.

Otherwise I will be keeping an eye out for Bangkok death/thrash metal fests. 8)

Saw FFS the other night who were very very good indeed. Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Courtney Barnett later this year, possibly Ezra Furman and Half Man Half Biscuit again soon if I can convince LP to come with me.

I know and they don't play in Europe very often.

They seem to have a bad rep here for some reason.

MOR haters.....meh.....they have good tunes. Crash and Under the Table and Dreaming were pretty decent albums.

Dave Matthews Band is the most technically sound yet soulless band on the planet. It's amazing how he can be so devoid of any interesting melody. Session musos with zero musical inspiration.

Can someone post me a quality tune of his? James Blunt has more hooks.

Bloody good and she was wearing a tight leotard number.

Also saw recently British India, Jinja Safari, Bonjah, Holy Holy, Jebediah (playing slightly odway in full), Gang of Youths, Kite String Tangle and the Pierce Brothers. We are off to Meg Mac in two weeks and the Paper Kites in a month. Plus a load of local musicians (Tash Sultana, Josh Cashman, and some others I forget). Thats the last 3 months or so I think.

The Mrs has decided she wants to go to a gig a week.

Thanks for letting me relive some of Dave Matthews more famous shithouse moments. He's like a session musicians Hootie & the Blowfish. I can't recall one musician of note who cites him as an influence. Adored by chubby 40 year old women and blokes who've never picked up a guitar

:uhoh: I have a decent and very wide taste in music and can play a couple of instruments, I find DMB very good, your argument is invalid.

He's not innovative and yes he might have lost some inspiration in the past decade or so but so what?

Saw Will Hoge in Sheffield on Sturday night, seeing Chris Young in London on Monday night, and seeing Zac Brown Band in London on the 25th. That's all that's left for this year so far.

I've just relived his 2 most famous, epic tunes. How uninspiring. Blokes a f**king sap.

God I love it when people run down music that they just happen to dislike - it's just a stupid argument and one that I'm not going to get into.

I like them - you don't - good for you.
