Saw Ms MR about a month ago.
How was Ms Mr and what was she wearing?????
Bloody good and she was wearing a tight leotard number.

Also saw recently British India, Jinja Safari, Bonjah, Holy Holy, Jebediah (playing slightly odway in full), Gang of Youths, Kite String Tangle and the Pierce Brothers. We are off to Meg Mac in two weeks and the Paper Kites in a month. Plus a load of local musicians (Tash Sultana, Josh Cashman, and some others I forget). Thats the last 3 months or so I think.

The Mrs has decided she wants to go to a gig a week.
She's a stunner

The Mrs is keen, let me know if you keep that up

Not for everyone - but I like their sound.
Thanks for letting me relive some of Dave Matthews more famous shithouse moments. He's like a session musicians Hootie & the Blowfish. I can't recall one musician of note who cites him as an influence. Adored by chubby 40 year old women and blokes who've never picked up a guitar
God I love it when people run down music that they just happen to dislike - it's just a stupid argument and one that I'm not going to get into.

I like them - you don't - good for you.
He does it on every one of these music threads just let him do his Rolling Stones journo impression
Does he ever actually tell us what we should be listening to?

Cause I have no idea - I just listened to Macklemore - The Heist and I fear he is not going to influence anyone or have anyone claim him as an influence.

I may just have to throw my MP3 player out.

I like them, but when I saw them at Sammy's a few years back they just about put me to sleep. Such a slow lethargic set. But I know they can be great live. Would go again.

My tastes are wide and varied. I would be ripped to shit by some on here if they got a hold of my iPod. I would rather listen to Britney than Dave Matthews.

As are mine. I may have The Saturday's - Higher on my MP3 along side Slipknot's Duality.

Music is about whatever rocks your boat - so I'm not sure why you feel the need to go full rage against DMB?

My mate is coming up from Southland, told me he bought 2 tickets to see them live, and so you don't turn down free tickets. Haven't really listened to too much of them, occasionally on Hauraki etc, but never one for live music. Sounds promising though, should be a good night on the town.

All you need to defuse Bungle is to say something mean about Chris Cornell. Like he's got a voice like a chicken f**king a magimix. And Russell Mael shits all over him.

Something like that.

I just don't get shouty and the machine. The occasional song is ok but I quickly get sick of her vocal range being just varying degrees of volume.

I believe you're talking about Mat the Expat, he's got tickets to Cornell's impending solo tour x( I haven't cared for Soundgarden or Cornell since Superunknown, 2/3's of which was cracking. He's cooked his voice since then and his solo stuff has always been limp.
Russell Mael
I had to google him. FNM often covered a Sparks tune live. He's no Mark E. Smith.

Meh, I have probably half of his discography so clearly not a blind devotee. I imagine him to be a penis in real life, but what great pipes.

He's far from the typical rock star, I just think he's an awkward guy who will purposefully push buttons of bandmates More what he used to do years back, but he looks a difficult guy if you're not on the same page. Put it this way, I remove the personality from the band/musician, it matters not what they're like. I draw the line at a Charles Manson folk album.
