As for travelling within Europe, nothing has changed in the last 30 years. I can still remember travelling to Europe on a 6 month passport you filled out at the post office.
I am a telco networks engineer, if I run out of work here, I can get a job in Netherlands, Sweden, Luxembourg or Belgium immediately without any poxy work permit or other forms of bureaucracy holding me up. People are not tied to their own country. That way.

When you leave for a holiday on the continent, you will be filling out an online ESTA type form for travelling to the EU (Ireland excepted due to CTA) . You will be queuing with the Russians and Yanks in the slow lane for immigration on the continent. I don't think you'll mind though after all, you've taken back control

The Germans actually manufacture goods and sell them. They don't totally rely on a glorified casino ie the City of London to bankroll them.

That's why they're successsful

The UK didn't actually hold a public vote on joining in 1973 unlike Ireland and Norway.

No they have a relative low wage and an artificial low currency at the expense of Southern Europe, they also protect their internal markets with state law. But yes they're the bestest. (In fairness they're good at manufacturing quality products).

It does make you wonder why they want so much of the city post brexit though. It sounds dangerous.

There has been a lot of contradictory crap spouted out by brexiteers in the last couple of pages.

After stating many times that the vote to leave was to take back control (ie parliamentary sovereignty) they insinuate that a public vote to join the EEC might mean something. Well there were multiple votes to join in parliament who did vote in. Parliamentary sovereignty means just that.
Although never constitutionally required, when the public did decide the result was in. Arguments about the entity being joined seem fairly facile, as the last referendum has proved you do not know what you are leaving.

Then came the new members from the east. It was not us, guv, it was Americans.
Well grow up and get some balls.

Difference was we were poor in the British empire....a farmyard for Britain if you like.

Britain was a main player in the EU

Ireland joined the EU because Britain joined the EU, then diversified its economy away from agriculture to services and benefited massively.

Britain is leaving the EU because its old farts have nostalgia for supposed better times in the past and also because they hate Eastern European foreigners and want to stop them entering the country

so not at all similar.

What is this nonsense? Ireland, Norway and the UK were offered the opportunity to join the EEC in 1973. Ireland and Norway had a public vote, the UK did not.

It's stating the obvious but British folk as existing members of a political Union are rather well versed in the dangers of centralised government which is why the majority of the population are against Ken Clarke's ambition to see Westminster reduced to merely a council chamber of the periphery of the European Superstate.

We don't know what affects it will have. It will certainly be negative for farmers but positive for services as they move here from the UK.

Win some lose some
