Stoke will end up voting for another party they despise such as the Torys due to no other choice. The Torys in response will pump more money into London.

Makes sense.

Comes back to the assumption that a lot of brexit voters know the difference between hard and soft brexit. The Brexiteers voters I know wouldn't. Labour are still brexitting.

Complete opposite ends of the working class spectrum, though I'm not suprised you and that class bigot from Ireland being snobby about somewhere you have little or no understanding of.

Corbyn still wants to cut immigration so that local workers jobs are not being undercut.

That demographic he's targeting voted precisely for that reason. They want to control immigration.

That was the reason. The tabloid reading average White van driving Englisher wouldn't know anything about politics. What they do know is that they don't like Jonny Foreigner taking their jobs. That's why they voted out.

I can see though why the revisionism has changed to it being about trade though......admitting you hate foreigners would seem petty and nationalist. That's the mirror you don't like.

He said it in his speech yesterday. Yes he wants to remain in the customs union but not single market and he wants to still control immigration and have a say in free trade deals. He is more deluded that the tossers in the Tory party.

Sovereignty
On the day of the referendum Lord Ashcroft's polling team questioned 12,369 people who had completed voting.[6] This poll produced data that showed that 'Nearly half (49%) of leave voters said the biggest single reason for wanting to leave the European Union was “the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK”.

Immigration
Lord Ashcroft's election day poll of 12,369 voters also discovered that 'One third (33%) [of leave voters] said the main reason was that leaving “offered the best chance for the UK to regain control over immigration and its own borders.”'[8]

Given the potential impact to ireland, one must assume it's easier for them to think we're a bunch of "fooking racists" then face the actual truth that we prefer to conduct our business our way and not be at the beck and call of others.

That has nothing to do with EU. All EU countries have their own immigration rules for non EU citizens. They are only bound to the freedom of movement for EU citizens.

Merkel letting in so many Syrians was a kind gesture but definitely a wrong one.

Don't bother he's a massive bigot, Irish middle class snob, you'll often see him refer to his country folk as "knacker" or "pikey".

It doesn't matter, we know who runs the EU and who is seen as the main figurehead.........

It wasn't just Syrians though was it, it was a mass stampede of everyone. Even the press changed their tune from "Refugees" to "migrants"

If she hadn't of done that, there'd be no Brexit, it was the final straw for some.
