Since I'm the one who started this thread, I'm the only person who can change the thread title.

Which I have done.

Better now?

Another great article on News24 today. I've been following this chap for a while now and he's one of my favourite political commentators.

What a complete cunt

I hope the plum goes to jail.

Seriously, everybody has a story of Zuma's corrupt nature, My sister (who is an architect for a large Johannesburg practice) tells a story of a project to build a school in Nkandla which got canned when Zuma demanded a twenty million Rand facilitation fee.

Mentor talks of Zuma asking her to "get him some diamonds" when he heard she worked for de Beers.

I heard a couple of ANC stalwarts telling a story on 702 radio where they were visited by Zuma in exile in London and he asked them to give him their money and valuables so that he could convert it to GBP for them and it was the last time they saw it.

Ronnie Kasrils has a number of stories.

And then there is Shabir Shaik who was sent to jail for bribing him.

We knew he was a corrupt plum before he was elected.

Ook agv Ramaphosa, of is dit iets anders die keer?

My punt van vroeër weereens bewys. Dit is nie so maklik as "sterk Rand = Ramaphosa" of "JSE af agv Zuma".

Profit-taking and a slightly softer rand resulted in the worst daily loss on the JSE since mid-December on Monday, with local banks, retailers and the property index all falling about 4%. The all share closed 1.28% lower.

Dit was gister se rede, lyk my dit het vandag van bad to worse gegaan.

I see that Capitec is under attack from a US/Australian consortium called "Viceroy".

https://www.fin24.com/Companies/Financial-Services/breaking-psg-to-probe-viceroy-motives-with-capitec-report-20180130

It seems to me that they are using the Steinhoff and Africa Bank debacles to undermine Capitec in the hopes of making money shorting shares.

The Daily MAverick is looking into it, so it should become clearer in the next few days.

That's a fair assumption.

The Reserve bank has already issued a statement saying Capitec is solvent. Also telling that Viceroy didn't have any liaisons with the bank, their auditors or legal teams. It comes across as based on no facts at all.

The only logical assumption is share price manipulation.

Viceroy basically admits to short selling:

Quote:
“As of the publication date of this report, you should assume that the authors have a direct or indirect interest/position in all stocks, and/or options, swaps, and other derivative securities related to the stock, and bonds covered herein, and therefore stand to realize monetary gains in the event that the price of either declines,

Looks fraudulent.

Probably actionable.

https://www.moneyweb.co.za/in-depth/investigations/viceroy-unmasked/

Quote:
Viceroy is headed by a 44-year-old British citizen and ex-social worker John Fraser Perring (pictured above) who operates between Lincolnshire and New York, and two Australian citizens, both 23, who operate from Melbourne

The JSE slumped more than 2% on Tuesday, tracking generally weaker global markets, while the latest report from Viceroy Research caused volatility in banking stocks. After Capitec dismissed the report as inaccurate, the share price recovered most of it losses, to close 2.96% lower. Naspers, however, was the primary drag on the JSE plunging 5.1% after Tencent earlier lost 2.08%.

Just got a sms from Capitec: "Your money is safe and we're continuing with business as usual".

I needed that bit of good news today. Knowing that my R 72.13 is safe sure helped.

In an ironic twist, the Guptas are attempting to not be captured by the State.
