Seriously, though, here we have a president openly mocking the medical community and experts in the field and playing some stupid f**king game with the lives of citizens. It boggles the mind to a mind-bogging degree that close to 50% of Americans support and approve this behaviour, rather than calling for a strait jacket.

On some of the coverage there was a response (such as it is) to one reporters question about citing evidence to support safe use of the drug.

The evidence Trump cited was "many people, I'm getting many calls & hearing good things" :shock:

An unspecified number of people or what these "things" might be.

Asked about an empirical study carried out that should no definitive benefits and potential harm his reply was.

"That was the VA report, let me tell you they are not Trump fans"

To have a valid opinion you need to be a fan?

FFS, give it up. It was nothing.
It wasn't nothing, the presidents son, son-in-law and campaign manager met with a Russian under the impression that they were going to get help from the Russian government to aide in their election for the presidency.

They then proceeded to lie about it to cover it up, wit Trump Snr even helping to draft one of the lies.

Don Jr only came clean when it was clear the emails were going to come out anyway.

To act as if people are crazy for suspecting the Trump's were up to no good with the Russians is at best disingenuous, when there is clear evidence that is exactly what the campaign was attempting to do.

You can argue that they never succeeded in getting it done, but they were certainly trying to.

The Russians were, as they do in many countries, while the conclusion was that the Trump campaign was not engaged in an active and organised way, rather just not turning down any offers made.

This has probably been posted before but it is an amazing thing for an English speaking adult to say:
"This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily great,” the president said last week during a meeting with congressional Republicans at the White House, referring to Miller. “The tests are perfect, but something can happen between a test where it’s good and then something happens. … She was tested very recently and tested negative, and then today, I guess for some reason, she tested positive."
:roll:

Hydroxychoroquine is a standard anti-malaria prophylactic. Bought without even prescription, for many years, in Southern Africa
I myself have used it countless times when visiting malaria areas. Without medical warning at all...Effective against malaria, it seems.

Common hydroxychloroquine side effects include:

headache, dizziness;
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
loss of appetite, weight loss;
feeling nervous or irritable;
skin rash or itching; or.
hair loss (more so if orange).

The maleria in Washington DC must be severe if you are willing to risk those side effects.

At his age, self medicating anything is questionable. With his weight, self medicating anything is questionable. Both are factors that can lead to far more extreme side effects than you'll find in that average 20-60 year old in reasonable shape.

EDIT - just looked at the NICE guidelines, and the elderly and obese are both in the extreme caution group for Hydroxoclorinique Sulfate. Should definitely not be self medicating

Fair enough.

"Spewing bile" was a little over the top. Calling everyone who doesn't share his view "thick as pigshit" of a "f**king moron", might be intolerant and not really conducive to discussion, but it isn't really bile.

The main tenet remains, however: this thread was a lot more sane without him.
