Christianity is very important to a lot of Americans and Trump has managed to invent an image of being the defender of the faith. Sure there are supporters who would vote for him anyway regardless. However, I reckon there are those who just believe Trump is the candidate that best represent the faith. Biden needs to preach to those. They like Trump because he's openly promoting the faith and not caring what other religions think particularly muslim. We might call it bigotry, they see it as a refreshing, a breathe of fresh air.

Biden doesn't need to trash other religions but he definitely needs to preach the faith. The Christian vote is the most important, especially in the battleground states.
Look this is really very simple. It doesn't matter what Biden is and it doeant matter how many Christians are in the US. What matters is that Biden is politically aligned with people who publicly and actively hate religion and seek to reduce religious freedoms. This is obvious.
specifically which religious freedoms and how does it compare to other western secular states, pick any G7 country for a comparison

if only that were so ; you haven't been to Southern States have you ?
No I haven't. What I meant he doesn't have to profess his Catholicism, he can just preach the Bible.
Trump is just dialing in his Christian values and doing a bad job at it, but he wins them over because he's doing something about it. Biden does nothing.

Indeed - but Biden's point is that everyone has heard of Edison but who had ever heard of Latimer?

In fairness there will be other white guys along the way that don't get the credit they deserve either, because Edison was such a massive douchebag.

Biden's claim is infinitely more true than half the bullshit Trump spouts about what lots of people are saying...it is a very weird thing for the Trumpeters to get worked up about.
For God's sake :(
It's Biden's point if you change all the words he actually said to be other words that he didn't actually say. What is strange is that people think this is about Latimer rather than Biden. Just to be clear: This. Is. About. Biden. Being. Mentally. Deficient.

That's not the point.

What they are trying to say is that just because he is capable of saying something like that, it would be totally in keeping with his character to say something like that, it has been reported that he said something like that, he has previously said similar things publicly, and several of the other claims in the same story have been corroborated, it does not mean that THIS TIME he actually said exactly these things.

Though if corroborating evidence were to emerge, the next step would be to ignore it because - and this is the really critical point - nothing Trump actually says or does matters, as long as he is annoying the left.
Trump is good at putting his foot in it but I have a very hard time believing he said a US military cemetery was "full of losers". That's just an absurd thing to say.

Remember those anonymous sources which claimed there was video evidence of Trump using racial slurs about black people, or pissing on prostitutes in Russia. No such video ever emerged. Although people still swear blind they exist to this day.

The trouble is when media take these unsubstantiated claims and publish them without due diligence, it feeds nicely into Trumps "fake news media is out to get me" narrative.

He resents military vets because he's insecure and they appear tougher than him. Only a moron would need "evidence" that he called them losers when he's on tape with his diabolical POW comments.

On the one hand you've got John Bolton saying it didn't happen. On the other hand you've got "anonymous sources" saying it did.

I think I'm going with John on this one.

No evidence but TDS gonna TDS.
All we have are these first-hand accounts that totally align with what we already know. That's not 'evidence'!

It's not like he's on video saying these things, like he was when he insulted American POWs for getting captured.
Where is the evidence that he said what The Atlantic claim?
You mean like a Trump evidentiary standard?

Like the copious documented instances of voter fraud he keeps telling us has & will happen - that kind of evidence?
Maybe we should ask the commission on voter fraud he set up in 2017 to investigate? They must have gathered a tonne of evidence by now, lets see it.

Or we could use the Bill Barr approach. Don't need evidence, logic tells us.

Or how about the evidence of Obama's Kenyan birth certificate? Trump told us the evidence the "guys" he sent to Hawai'i were turning up was unbelievable. Certainly was unbelievable....no 'guys' were ever sent.

There is evidence of tax returns, ah yes can't see those.

Dark shadow flight taking thugs to...or was it from D.C? So hard to keep up with the current version.
That's right its all under investigation. Plenty evidence but just can't show us it. How is that different from un-named sources?

Maybe all will be revealed in a "very short period of time", say, 2 weeks. Or maybe 2 weeks after that because, let me check, of course the health care plan is due for signing in 2 weeks.
