I see a major gun retailer in the USA has pulled the assault rifles used in the shooting. It looks like there may be some genuine ground swell on the issue. The GOP will have to be careful on this one. They're already in trouble with the youth vote and if this movement gains traction intransigence about a complete refusal to make any sort of gun related law may see a backlash. Perhaps the US may actually head off on a moderately sane tangent down the track.

US President Donald Trump has proclaimed March 2018 as Irish-American Heritage Month.

In a statement, Mr Trump said "During the month of St Patrick's Day, we celebrate Irish-American Heritage Month and the tremendous role Irish immigrants and their descendants have played in the development of our great Nation.
