Leader of the free world...

You may not get a vote, but the US election probably impacts your country's foreign policy far more than the election of your own President/PM/Chancellor/Emperor/Maharaja etc

We get our shit from China and Russia. We don't give a flying fuck about American politics. We even have an embargo against US meat. Obama nearly shat his pants when he found out.

Trump doesn't NEED to carry.
He would take down Clinton AND Bush AND Cruz and a host of others, with a series of well executed WWE wrestling moves.

Funny that Repubs want to help Hillary win after spending 25 years crafting the narrative that she can't be trusted. More than half of her image problem stems from republican mudslinging that large sections of the new extreme left, I call them the Maté (pronounced ma-tay) party, have swallowed whole. I want to see the backstepping they will do here. Unfortunately, she will have to probably accept it because the phenomenon that is Trump is impossible to predict, along with the likelihood the Maté party and the Susan Sarandon's of the country cannot be relied upon because their too cool/their morals won't let them.

Trump's VP is going to be interesting. Usually, you chose someone that has what you are lacking. Trump's whole campaign has flown in the face of convention so who knows. It may be Donald Jr or Eric. It will likely be Christie because assholes love assholes and Christie is a blowhard and bully with experience governing.

Trump seems to be (only time will tell if he wins. He might be a plant like Obama) on the people side. Clinton is clearly owned. She is dangerous too with her love of killing and war

At the fourth Democratic debate in Charleston Sunday night, Hillary Clinton was asked about her personal relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Her slightly awkward response drew laughter from the crowd: “Well, my relationship with him, it’s — it’s interesting,” the former Secretary of State said.

But then she recovered, continuing, “It’s one, I think, of respect. We’ve had some very tough dealings with one another. And I know that he’s someone that you have to continually stand up to because, like many bullies, he is somebody who will take as much as he possibly can unless you do.”

Contrast this to Trump. Clinton is a dangereous nutcase

Marco Rubio attacked Donald Trump at Thursday’s debate for expressing admiration for Vladimir Putin. “Wrong, wrong, wrong!” Trump said, before explaining that it had been the other way around.

“Putin said about me—I didn't say about Putin—Putin said very nice things about me. And I say, very nicely, ‘Wouldn't it be nice if actually we could get along with Russia?’ ”

So the absolute latest poll has Clinton leading Trump by 13

Only one poll in the last 2-3 months has Trump with any kind of lead over Clinton. Is there a reason why the Rasmussen polls should be treated as more rliable than all the others?

You have to understand that in Silver's world, Trump leads. By a lot. And it will only grow.

Then again, in Silver's world, global vaccination programmes are an evil pharmaceutical conspiracy, the EU is hellbent on recreating concentration camps and global warming is a myth.

I don't know, the pundits have been wrong about pretty much everything so far. I'm worried he'll do it.

This could be the most one sided election since Alf Landon ran against Roosevelt or in more modern times Walter Mondale's attempt at Ronnie the Ray Gun.

Hillary by lots.

You might guess that'd be the result if the election was tomorrow. It isn't though and there's plenty of water to go under the bridge between now and November. The shock of the fact that Trump actually won in the face of the party established figures will wear off and he'll have time to sell himself. And he is a pretty good salesman.

Unless something new emerges about Hillary, the Reps have already used all their ammunition, several times, on her.

And as well as Barry, Bill and Joe, she will have the greater dem and union apparatus behind her.

Like TSG says, this will be very ugly for Trump.

With all the threads and pages of garbage on this topic how many people on the bored can actually vote in the upcoming election. For the record I have lived in the US for 17 years but am only a green card holder and can't vote.

Don't forget who Hillary has in the background to orchestrate the final few months. Like him or loath him, he is one of the greatest political operators ever and will be 3 or 4 steps ahead of Trump every step of the way.

Been discussed previously. The constitution is not 100% explicit on this and it would take a Supreme Court Ruling, but the general consensus is that she probably can't (not that I imagine she'd want to)

I think you suspect wrong. A lying warmonger, who has no ethics and is totally driven by psychopathic ambition yet is easily bought and paid for. The presidential assumption that has been around for a long time sticks in the craw of many.

Oh and shes not easy on the eye.

It would be nice if someone could provide something concrete rather than demonising rhetoric. Its not a hard question.

So far everything anybody has been said has been based on nothing more substantive than a projection of Mrs Underwood's character from House of cards on to her. She wants to be President therefore she most by psyhocpathically ambitious- what you mean like more ambitious that anyone else that wants to be a president? She's bought and paid for? Are you kidding. She is not Bernie sure. But campaign finance rules in the states are just awful- why is she worse than anyone else that uses Superpacs or has corporate affiliations?

I instinctively do not like her. Yet I'm not going to let me instincts prejudice my judgement. I know several people that have worked with her and by all accounts she is bright and diligent.

I have little doubt Hillary will win without some last minute disaster like the Feds actually putting a court case together. But if Trump does a few smart things like say getting the right VP and patching things up with the republicans in general it may not be the utter crushing currently predicted.

It's a very good question. Without looking it up, he had an older brother who was the heir presumptive who drank himself to death aged 43. I think there was enough of an age gap, and the rot had kicked in early enough, for the brother to say to Trump 'don't start'.

So I think he's never even touched a drop. Which is remarkable really. He navigated all the nightclubs of Manhattan doing the early deals and shagging all the chicks without drinking.

Its all very well to hold career politicians in disdain. I do. But it is disingenuous to project all that disdain onto one of them.

A lying warmonger- tell me more. She was as I understand it a cautious SOS and a multilateralist that was under-pressure form republican tea party "make america great again" types do open cans of whop-ass. She also did her bosses bidding.

And she aint that easy on the eye. I agree. If she were would you be more supportive? Again hard to avoid the stain of misogyny.

Very good post.

Jesus christ

I can see why someone might not want Hillary to be president
I can see why someone might think Trump has a chance against Hillary

but actually WANTING TRUMP TO WIN???!!

The guy is a full bore narcissistic sociopath lunatic.
No barriers no filters believes hi9s own bullshit
complete megalomaniac
capable of Putinesque levels of bad decision making and anti democratic crimes.

He would ride roughshod over everything.
wow

You really would have to be both stupid as a rock and an absolute shitbag of a human being to want trump to win. (in my opinion)

What a process eh? Months and months of politiking at it's worst and we end up with ...

Hillary versus Trump

I have a feeling that this will not end well for all of us.

Why doesn't Trump drink? another recovering alkie like Dubya?

It's a very good question. Without looking it up, he had an older brother who was the heir presumptive who drank himself to death aged 43. I think there was enough of an age gap, and the rot had kicked in early enough, for the brother to say to Trump 'don't start'.

So I think he's never even touched a drop. Which is remarkable really. He navigated all the nightclubs of Manhattan doing the early deals and shagging all the chicks without drinking.

He's probably a secret muslim. Have we even seen his birth certificate?????

Trump will spend the next few months grabbing some of the black vote. Romney lost with 59 percent of the white and 6 percent of the black vote. He got 26 percent of the Asian and 27 percent of the Hispanic.

I expect Trump will get more of the white and a lot more of the black vote than Romney, but drop massively on the Hispanic. But anyway the latest polls have Trump and Hillary neck and neck.

I think as time goes on and Clinton is exposed more and more for the bought and controlled dangerous loony she is (that Trump will point out without hesitation) Trumps lead will increase

As opposed to the greatest loose cannon we have ever seen.

It will be a fascinating and very nasty race

Loose cannon for some, the Great Iconoclast for others.
