Dr J must be the player that has welcomed more inductees than anyone else, Mo Cheeks and Charlie Scott in the same night for one, I know he was one of 4 players welcoming Shaq.

So we just not gonna talk about Jimmy Buckets?

He's asked to be traded to the Clippers (or Nets/Knicks) who happen to be the frontrunners to get Kawhi next summer
Image

There's been some spicy beef on social media involving Wiggins and Butler and weirdly Stephen Jackson. Jimmy also called KAT a fuking pussy

Timberbulls are officially the most dysfunctional team
First they threw big money at Wiggins and then their owner publicly lectured him that he has to improve, basically saying that he ain't worth it but they hope he'll get better in the future and earn it
Now it looks like they've traded away their future for a short rental of Jimmy Buckets

Please trade him to the Knicks for Noah. You know you want it Thibs

Jimmy is a great player, but he's a bit of a plum.

The young Bulls guys loathed him, and now the Timber pups do.

Thibs, and his antiquated ass, needs to get fired. This shit show is his fault.

I saw this outcome coming when Butler initially moved to the Timberwolves. Butler has a history of being strong headed and calling his team mates out on things. I have no idea why he's be interested in joining those teams like the Nets & Knicks though. I find it interesting that the Lakers aren't on his list of desired destinations.

 That's what I like about him, he wants LA or NY but reportedly doesn't want to go to the Lakers now that LeBron is there. He has the attitude of a Michael Jordan but the talent of a Scottie Pippen. Some pundit said it best when he said if Butler is your number 1 guy, you're not winning a championship.

The teams he prefers (LAC, BKN, NYK) will all have room to sign 2 max players next year. Himself (one year left on his contract) and another...

The Clippers are heavily linked with Kawhi. The NY teams are being linked with Kyrie who also happens to be Jimmy's bff and they have talked about hooking up for a while

Meanwhile, Thibs (who is coach and President) is telling teams who are calling about a Jimmy trade that he is NOT going to trade him while he is employed. Butler is Thib's ride or die

The owner of the Wolves, who is at the Board of Governors meeting, is telling people to bypass Thibs and contact him directly if necessary

From strictly a basketball viewpoint, I don't know why the Pelicans aren't on Butler's shortlist. Butler teaming up with Davis would be a great combination.

Pistons paying $2.40 for the win... Tempting - but preseason...

Don't forget, Breakers v. Suns on at 3pm.

Yup. It's miserable. Need a new managing partner/owner and a new GM before anything will turn around. Vivek and Vlade are clueless and literally the only nice thing is that the Kings somehow managed to avoid moving to Seattle a few years back and got a nice shiny arena. That said, there are some bright spots. Harry Giles looks like a steal, assuming (big assumption) he can stay healthy, and Fox could be the next John Wall. Still, Bagley looks like trash and of course they could have had Doncic, Jaren Jackson Jr or literally anyone else in the lotto over Bagley. I'm just glad I don't live there anymore as it might be too much to take on a nightly basis.

Hear ya. Sports talk radio in these markets for perennial loser teams (Kings, Browns) gets pretty miserable.

Breakers doing OK against the Suns. Very early of course, and they're 22.5 point 'dogs, but good stuff nonetheless.

He also had a run in the Summer League last year, I think with the Mavs. Dude is ridiculously talented, he played for the Wellington Saints for a few years but didn't play the most recent season. In his last season, when they also had Tai Wesley, they won the title (back to back) and went 20-0 for the season (first time ever in the NBL a team has gone undefeated). The team without him was still good enough to get to the final with Shea Ili stepping up as the main scorer but stumbled in the final. Ili had a rough time against the Suns, I think he relies a bit too much on improvising off the dribble and in the air and against a quicker more athletic defence, he couldn't get away with it.

Have I mentioned that the Thunder medical staff are the farking worst?!

I think I do every season...

https://twitter.com/ErikHorneOK/status/ ... 7107299333

A Thunder spokesperson informed media Thursday night that Andre Roberson had a setback in his rehabilitation from left patellar knee surgery. He will be re-evaluated in two months.

He might be done - but at least my guy got paid.

Next man up is Terrance Ferguson. :uhoh:

We'll see a lot of Russ/Schröder lineups now - which defensively will be fun. :|

Are you sure it's the medical & rehab staff that's the problem and not Roberson's body?

I agree it's disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing OKC play like a top defensive team again.

I know it's pre-season but Steven Adams has had two really strong performances against two top centres in Drummond & KAT. He's picked up a double double in both games and averaged 8 offensive boards despite only playing 25 minutes. He's improved every season he's been in the league and he could step it up big time this season and if Noel can give some good minutes as backup hopefully Adams won't be as beat up & tired by the end of the season.

He'd have done that last season if he'd played for any of the other teams.

And I don't mean that as a knock on Westbrook - there's very good reasons why Donovan wants him to get the ball as soon as possible and he's one of the best rebounding guards in history. But Adams averaged 9 rebounds last season without even concentrating on getting them on the defensive end and managed all sorts of bizarre ratios of off vs def rebounds. If he played for another team he would have averated 12-13 boards a game minimum.

Nah - the Thunder have a history of medical mismanagement.

They botched this up, like they farked up Ibaka's knee, KD's foot, Cam Payne's foot, etc, etc...

They have a tendency to be aggressive in their treatment - which ends up with predictable/inevitable setbacks.

Ever frustrating - but I'm still happy Thunder basketball/the NBA is back. I've even watched the preseason! Thunder games + Bron anyway...

Dejounte Murray has torn his ACL.

Gutted for the kid.

Anyone that bet the overs early is in trouble... Pop is a warlock, but the Spurs have lost a lot of elite defence. They'll do very well to make the playoffs now.
