I guess we know what the Kings offered for Otto:

Woj,

The Kings are trading Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph to the Mavericks for Harrison Barnes, league sources tell ESPN.

Damn - they should have gone harder for Porter.

Yup. Interesting offseason ahead, anyway.

Is Andrew Wiggins the most overpaid player in the NBA? He's not a max player's arsehole.

Great pick-up for the Bucks.

Looks like Raptors just traded for Gasol.

The top of the East is looking very strong - should be great fun come playoff time.

Magic giving Fultz a try. Definitely worth it for them.

Must not have been much fun for the Celtics hearing about all these teams in the East getting better.

It's quite funny, in the space of a year the East-West power balance has swung very quickly away from the west overall to make both east and west very even compared with before.

It's also somewhat surprising in that it's happened with only one truly elite player (Leonard) moving East which of course is more than balanced out by James moving West. Harris, Gasol & Butler are very good players obviously, but not top 10 or anything, so for the most part the teams have improved by tactical improvements, picking up good role players and (gasp) actually improving the players they already had.

The East has improved but not to the degree you are suggesting. 10 western conference teams have a winning record v the East compared to only 6 in the East having an above .500 record v all comers from the west. The top end of the east is better than before but teams 5-10 in the west are still significantly better than their counterparts in the east. Night in, night out the west is a tougher conference to win in.

I had to feel for Valanciunas after the Raptors traded him to the Grizzlies for Marc Gasol. He had played with the Raptors his entire career and was a solid player who always gave it 100%.

On another matter, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Thunder have moved from having the 30th highest (i.e. worst) 3 point percentage in the NBA and are now in 13th spot.

Yeah, the Thunder have improved hugely from 3 - T Fert, Grant & PG are shooting better (Ferg especially) and Russ is shooting much less. He's also been passing more which has been a big part of this run they've been on in the last month, he's averaging something like 14 assists a game in recent weeks.

It sounds like a paradox, but Westbrook is shooting the worst that I've seen him, but he's probably playing the best I've seen him in terms of making his team mates better. The Thunder are a genuine team now, rather than a 1 or 2 man show.

Finished with 30. Apparently first player to have back to back 30 point games with two different franchises.

Always thought he was pretty handy.

The Thunder just waived Alex Abrines.

I believe he's struggling with mental illness, but this is just speculation on my behalf. It has been the most bizarre 6 weeks of my Thunder fandom wondering what is going on with the kid?! He's been out with illness/personal reasons for 19 of the last 22 games. Sometimes he's been listed as 'active', but hasn't even been on the bench... It's been so very odd.

The beat writers know what's up, but they haven't told the fans - which is fair enough.

A disappointing end to Abrines' Thunder tenure, but I cannot stress enough that there are matters far more important than basketball involved since OKC/Abrines agreed to this move for his benefit. I hope Abrines is afforded that respect in this space.

He's a good dude and I wish him the best.

The Thunder now have to sign 2 players to fill out the roster.

Sad...might just need a change of scenery. Seemed he could be a little more than just a shooter (who remembers that Thompson poster??) but that wasn’t really what the Thunder wanted from him.

You do also wonder how someone from a culture like the one he’s from copes in a place like OKC. Not knocking the city at all, just that Midwestern culture lacks the sort of warmth Latins are more accustomed to. Saw my Puerto Rican father struggle with that my whole life; he eventually left for a more suitable locale.

Worst case scenario Abrines at least has the option of going back home and still making good money in the second best league in the world.

Sounds like mental health. It makes you wonder how many top level athletes from the past were affected by these types of ailments.

You may well be right there, fonzeee.

He got married in the off-season, and I believe his wife moved to OKC full-time.

On the basketball front, it leaves the Thunder desperately short at the wing. Roberson (likely), and Abrines, now done for the season.

I know you're no fan of Wes, but the Thunder would have killed to get him on the team! Abdel Nader is our best bench wing now. :|

I didn't care for the most recent Mavs version of him...whenever I turned them on to see Doncic he just seemed to underwhelm.

That said, he may be good for us as a stopgap. The Pacers have apparently decided to go for winning over playing youngsters/experimenting (not that I have a problem with that decision, I only wish we could have got something for Collison and just let Aaron Holiday get some experience), and it seems he will make our team better.

Wow - what a win by the Thunder.

The 26-point come-from-behind win is the biggest rally in Thunder history.

Man, I am spent!

The starters are a boss unit.

My good friend, Scrub Nader, played 4 minutes in the first half and was a total wreck. Billy benched him in the 2nd half, and we farking won!

Sorry, Nader, but you need to go to China.

PG is a monster!

Call me a contrarian MB, but I actually like the look of Nader. I've seen more out of Nader with his limited opportunities, than I ever saw from Abrines who was given plenty.

I agree, the starters are a well balanced unit.

It's a really fun season, shame GS hang over everything but both play-off sets should be great. I love that whoever of the big 4 in the east go out in the 2nd round could have enormous effects (Kawhi, Kyrie, Butler leaving.. the raft of Bucks free agents etc)

I'm surprised mental health doesn't end more careers, the scrutiny over every shot online is really something.

The downside of course is that the tanking changes have completely failed... the bottom 4 are incredible

Maybe, but as it stands they're in 3rd place which would mean one of Boston or Philly aren't making out of the first round.

Good win for the Thunder tonight, especially with no Schroder or Grant. Fat Ray actually played ok, he still called his own number most of the time but at least he hit his shots. PG was immense again.

Wins over the Rockets & now the Blazers have put a bit of daylight between them & the chasing pack & they're within striking distance of 2nd place.

Its dumb, Dantoni left CP3 in the game v Kings last week even when the Kings were down 20 and had had waved the white flag by subbing out all their starters.
