I like the Thunder pick.

I'm fairly certain we discussed this article on him previously: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/22/spor ... lance.html

Thunder also signed Arizona State's Lu Dort to a full two-way contract. Will have to check out some film.

Yeah, I saw an interview with Rich Paul about it on the Jump.

I'm all for any alternative pathways for young players, any alternative to college ball is good in my view.

RJ Hampton & Ball have good shots at being lottery picks next year which would definitely open people's eyes about the viability of playing overseas instead.

Not yet anyway.

Adams is overpaid, but he's too good just to be a salary dump.

OKC trading back b/c this Draft ain't shit. I'm just trying to get excited here...
There were rumors he was been shopped, for whatever that's worth, albeit probably not terribly much.

Would you follow him or stay with OKC?
Both.

OKC is my team now, but I'll still watch Steve ball. Basically, as long as he doesn't end up in Boston, I'll survive...
The idea of the Pels taking on Adams contract has been floated on Twitter. I'm down. He and Jrue would be a great backbone for the young squad

Griff will take a run at Horford for sure.. but he probably wants a contender

He probably does, but more importantly he wants 5 years & 100+ so if the Pels offer it to him, who knows?

Griffin is a big fan of Steve, but he has to put a 5 that can shoot next to Zion.

I'm a big Horford fan, but he has patellar tendonitis. I'd be loathed to give him a long term deal over 100m...

He's 33!

The Celtics have been talked about as a possible destination for Adams, would make sense - they've got the cap space & have just traded away Baynes. Adams does the same things as Baynes but twice as good.

3/85 is the general consensus. so not what Horford is looking for

Brook Lopez would be nice but doubtful he wants that vet role either (and Vucevic)

Dewayne Dedmon can shoot

Apparently Harden isn't going to attend the awards ceremony so Giannis is nailed on for MVP tonight.

They really should go back to giving the awards out at the start of the playoffs.

MVP = Giannis Antetokounmpo
Rookie of the year = Luka Doncic
Sixth man = Lou Williams
Defensive player of the year = Rudy Gobert
Most improved = Pascal Siakam
Coach of the year = Mike Budenholzer

I haven't read any of the reviews, but based on what I saw this season, I don't have a problem with any of those decisions.

Yeah, I mean you can make an argument for Harden based on his ridiculous offensive output, but he kind of did start the season a bit slower and not only does he not defend, he basically sits out any offensive possession that isn't an iso play for him. And combined with how much of his game is dependent on drawing fouls, I can understand why people might not wanna vote for him.

It would appear the Lakers have now made space in their salary cap for a max contract offer.

If he sticks around, probably. Be interesting to see if they can get a max player - you'd think someone would definitely be interested. In terms of the top tier (I'm assuming they can't get Kawhi, Klay or KD), maybe Butler or Kyrie could fit. I don't think they should throw max money at anyone else. Big money, but not max.

In other news, the Celtics are now looking like signing Kemba which is about the best like for like replacement you could get for Kyrie. Not quite as good, but maybe a better locker room fit.

And the Rockets are trying to get Jimmy Buckets in a sign and trade which sounds like a great idea if you want James Harden to get punched in the face.

Without knowing the ins and outs, Chris Paul is a known asshole, so I would assume he was behind most of the strife.

I like the move for Kemba for the Celtics.

Oh yeah, Paul is an arsehole but so is Butler. And they're both bolshy as fudge about playing conditions so putting them both on a team with a guy who is historically ball dominant and apparently uncoachable is a recipe for disaster.

cocks on blocks, correctly predict where these guys land and you will earn nothing:

Kawhi
Kemba
KD
Kyrie
Jimmy B

Toronto (I'm guessing Gasol picking up his option is a clue).
Boston (good fit for team and Brad Stevens gets the most of out of his PG's so good for Kemba)
Nets (maybe in a sign & trade)
Nets (see above)
Houston (for the LOLZ, he really should resign with Philly though)

So I'm guessing the Lakers don't get an A+ recruit, but to be honest they don't need one. Get Reddick and some 3 and D guys and they're a good bet for a title, IMO.

Those are the most likely options in my (completely unqualified) opinion.

I would like the Nets to get good though, fudge the Knicks. I hope the Knicks sign Boogie on a max deal or some dumb shit.

Clippers - let Jerry work his magic, plus I feel like introverts like to gravitate towards home. Gonna be hard to walk away from the best team in the league, especially when you also now own an entire country, but he really is his own man. Although some have him going to Lakers I truly cannot see him wanting to be Lebron’s bag boy. He just led a team to a championship, he should answer to no one.

Boston - honestly this is just based on what I’ve heard, I thought it would be Dallas to be honest, that Cubes would work his magic...anyways as a kind-of Celtics fan I think it’s a great move. Kyrie is more talented but he is a cancer. This a move that will improve the team IMO.

Brooklyn - so he can team up with Kyrie in NY without having to play for the Knicks

Brooklyn - so he can team up with KD in NY without having to play for the Knicks

Houston - some how or some way, Jimmy’s coming home. If they could find a way to get Harden and Paul to make up that’s a pretty formidable trio, assuming it works salary-wise (although Paul’s on the downslide)

Mirotic turning down a potential $15m a year with the Jazz to return to Europe with Barcelona.

I would hate if the NBA lost its monopoly on talent

(though I have no doubt there are guys in Europe who could at least be solid bench players or low-tier starters but would rather stay home and be rich anyway while only playing 40-50 games a year)

Kyrie to the Nets also 99% confirmed. Looks like they'll renounce DLo. EDIT: Sign + Trade still a possibility for DLo.

No surprises there.

Jimmy news, per Woj: Sources: Jimmy Butler expected to meet the Miami Heat in South Fla. Sunday. Butler/Rockets meeting likely early week in LA. Sixers haven’t ruled out working with Butler on sign-and-trades, which Miami and Houston need to acquire the All-Star guard.

I thought it would have been a great pickup, although the fact he wanted like four years wouldn’t have been great.

Marc Stein just tweeted that the Pels are not pursuing players in the market for 4 year deals... which is thinly veiled announcement for Horford's people

They're also possibly looking at a sign & trade with Russell to get some value back on him.

Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, Garrett Temple, Kevin Durant, Jarrett Allen, DeAndre Jordan, plus Musa and Kurucs Loaded roster for a team that cleared out two max cap spots. Take a bow, Sean Marks, Trajan Langdon, and everyone in that rebuild.
