Sorry about yesterday tae, was watching Netflix with the wife.

Got my first pilot kill a couple of days ago, sniped him right out of the cockpit with the new sniper rifle, was very proud of myself until I saw Ravic's "shooting out pilots montage" (https://youtu.be/UetmjFMqTOg). Bastard makes it looks so easy.

Have unlocked all the new dlc weapons except for the last assault one, how are people finding these maps?

That's pretty sweet sniping a pilot - I've had a few shots at them never thinking that it was even possible to kill them.

The new maps are a little 'same as' although the Italian one has a lovely sniping spot in a bush between two big rocks looking directly at an enemy choke point.

I like the new sniper. Close sweet spot, scope and you can rechamber a round without leaving ADS. Can pop off a few very quick shots.

Haven't played much of the maps, the operations campaign keeps me there.

Big fan of the new rifle too, but because you don't leave ADS I'm finding myself running out of ammo very very quickly. Either I need to start playing with dedicated support players or have to stop missing so much ha.

I don't like Caporetto conquest assault, for whatever reason that map/mode doesn't suit me at all. Big fan of River Somme and Passchendaele though.

since last update (which was bugged to feck) I can't seem to join in or see you playing a game ? Tae finds me and sends me a party invite and get in that way, that's all (that hold down the map button thing doesn't seem to appear now).

also, the customise soldier thing is broke and has reset back to beginning, although in game I can change loadup using full range. Still can't seem to find how to apply the pilot or tanker perks.

Haven't played new maps much as have been getting my unlocks:
bit of flamethrower kills and assault multi kills for pyromaniac (last perk unlock)
think I've unlocked all the negatives perks, but will never use them
and incidentally made progress toward all the tags, but some of those unlocks are daft , like 'kill a behemoth with a Kolibri' - GTFO

re weapons, have all assault now, all medic bar the 300 kills sebtstander one (feck that), all supply, and scout just the final new gun to get.
hanguns, need the final pistol that is all.
melee weapons, have fully built about 6

I still have the second new assault, medic and scout weapons to unlock. Just need the explosive damage in a round and another few hundred metres of headshots. Haven't really played as anti-vehicle since the DLC, so the assault will come quickly enough when I get around to it. Finishing the Selbstadtler 300 kills before I get into using the new medic gun. Only 60 kills or so to go.

Saw you online a couple of times recently but your game was 64/64 and I wanted to play other maps, so didn't bother making a party.

That new assault weapon is shite. Love the infantry version of the Lee Enfield though.

Passchendaele is great though - exactly what I thought a WW1 map would be like.

it is very shite, 9 bullet mag wtf. play on tight maps like Verdun that funnels baddies into your sights.

however it has hard hitting bullets, so you can play it a but like the Farqhuar, which I like for the medic

It's been widely covered, but I'm really not sure if Conquest Assault works. I get that it mimicks the attacking/defending nature of lots of the battles, but I've seen Somme and Caporetto turn into base rape where the attacking team are just funnelled through a killing field as they try to break out.

Probably quite historically accurate!


The RSC SMG is a bit of a beast, if you can manage the tiny clip. The damage per bullet is huge, but you can't afford to be missing many shots.
I really like the new LMG. It's class.

slight side track, but got a 71-3 on defence on Volga in the (you guessed it) mortar tank - 26k points in a round!
got the MVP as you need 10 for one of the dogtag unlocks, but main reason for staying as it was that myself and one team mate were racing for top spot, I beat him by a scant 400 points - he was a cavalry and got about 41-15 so must have been supplying everyone and capturing points.

next highest score was only 20k


want to see how long it will take me to get 100 kills in a round, best is about 82-10

going for pistol kills now
best technique for that I've found is to have a friendly attack plane act as your taxi, and you bail out and land just behind a camping sniper so you can pistol them in the head.

I used the iron sights M95 or G98 to do 70+ damage with one shot before quickly switching to the pistol to finish them off. Very effective.

And remember - never aim down sights with pistols, particularly the M1911.

I am shite at switching weapons to finish them off - one reason I can't get on wih guns with small mags.
as for aiming, I usually aim for the gut and go bang bang bang and let the climb keep the bullets into the head.

I have these unlocked, but how do you decide not to use them? I foolishly decided to complete the assignments and then it started unlocking these too. Don't they automatically come into play?
I just run around and shoot, don't ever really read to much on the game instruction etc. I play objectives and like to play in squads, (play online with a brother in Singapore and one in South Africa when times zones overlap every now and then).

unless you are playing against a team of Tae's (collective noun is a Magoo of Tae's) then I don't see how that will prevent you being fodder tbh, unless there is smoke around.

Ach I've a knack for picking the right lines and routes that results in a decent bit of success, I just always like to be moving y'know!

You haven't seen me fly a plane. Played air assault the other day and died loads. Half of the time from crashing into the side of a mountain. My only kill was from a midair collision where we both died and were both credited with kills.

Nolanator, that is exactly how I am on air assault - except I haven't been able to crash into anyone yet. I just constantly go into the mountains.

I have been flying a bit on Heligoland as it's a bit safer (no mountains only ocean) and I can try a bit of bombing.

BTW, I'm ignoring Yeeb's nasty comments although I am a fecking bullet/grenade/AT rocket sponge.

I generally am cannon fodder. not much good in vehicles..to old..

Used to be a good sniper on BF3 the old M98, but am playing more medic and assault now.

nolanator, I finished after that next game, with 30 shotgun kills, was a bit more than I expected as I thought I had grenaded everything instead.

all this 'chasing certain kills for achievements' isn't really conducive to team play tbh

God no, but it's fun deleting people off the map.

The amount of times I died to shotguns in those couple of rounds was ridiculous.

I think it would be far better if for these community missions, they would randomly offer you 1 of 4 or 5, just like the medals tracking - so you and I could have got the shotguns challenge, other people could have got 'capture 100 flags' or 'get 100 plane kills' or something. The game after you left on Fortress, was an abortion of a game - about 1/4 camper snipers as per usual, but then everyone else (inc me initially) trying to shotgun each other on a very open map !
I quickly switched to martini henry to get more kills toward my 300 goal for the last sniper rifle unlock.

I guess that's why the community missions are very short. Go bananas for a few days with one weapon and then forget about it.

On open maps you can use the slug shotties for a bit more ranged effectiveness. I'm not a huge fan of them, though. I've only really used them for some weapon unlocks in the past.

I had massive trouble getting through a door the other night as my ping was extra high and I kept 'bouncing' back into the middle of the room.

actually that phrase could be used if any of us fail to navigate a doorway or some other non-obstruction type Spaz - it happens to the best of us on occasion.

Nolanator, the worst one I had the other night was trying to run between shell holes on Galicia. I kept 'rubberbanding' (nice technical term) between them in the open and I'm yeling at the game to 'GET THE FECK DOWN' as I was just waiting to get shot.

PS4 had an update , and now battlefield won’t work, says I’m not online when I am. Ran a diagnostic on the network , my internet connection is fine, just not with the game. Had a restart too, no dice.

I saw a lot of comments about this happening to others on facebook so looks like it's effecting everyone. I think I read it was hack related.

I’m trying the ww2 call of duty game I got for Xmas and haven’t loaded yet - 16 mins worth of updates !
