Great try from Lloyd. Did not have much room to work with and used strength to overpower McLelland. The Ontario boys on the Selects are destroying the Arrows.

That's the new 19 for RC.canuckles wrote:Yeah, but he is in his 30s.CanNZ2000 wrote:Is he younger then Barkwill?canuckles wrote:The Arrows' guys for the Selects: Rumball, Ciulini, Ferguson playing well. Ontario 9 and 2 are from England, unsure if they are Canadian connected. 18 and 11 are playing in BC but are imports.
Really?LeinsterLion wrote:Was thinking the commentators were disgraceful, until I realised they're part of the Arrows set up and it made sense
apparently very full and good atmosphere, but no specifics and we couldn't see (same side of the pitch as camera) or hear (no sound from ref or venue) themCanNZ2000 wrote:Did they mention the crowd size?
Jaysus no, the polar opposite!Nieghorn wrote:Really?LeinsterLion wrote:Was thinking the commentators were disgraceful, until I realised they're part of the Arrows set up and it made sense
I didn't pay too much attention, but I thought it sounded like their bias was toward the Canada Selects? I won't ever bash Hugh Bladen again for sounding boring. These two are perfect for NPR.
I did see the post CanNZ. Didn't have anything to say about it, though.
The stand has a 3,000 spectator capacity. Anything close to full and that's a fairly good turnout.LeinsterLion wrote:apparently very full and good atmosphere, but no specifics and we couldn't see (same side of the pitch as camera) or hear (no sound from ref or venue) themCanNZ2000 wrote:Did they mention the crowd size?
I'd take Dallen Stamford over those two every day of the week. Which is saying something as Dallen shits me big time. They actually make the game boring to watch with their endless dribble. They were the same against the Mystics. Dull, listless and completely void of enthusiasm. Either the Arrows need to source other commentators or these two need to really tune into the likes of Dan Power and Co. to see how to find a better mix of informative and engaged.LeinsterLion wrote:Jaysus no, the polar opposite!Nieghorn wrote:Really?LeinsterLion wrote:Was thinking the commentators were disgraceful, until I realised they're part of the Arrows set up and it made sense

The video! Re sounding boring, I thought they weren't so much boring as poor. One comment on the stream put it best - they sounded drunk, but needed to be drunker to be entertaining!
I do not think it was announced. If the crowd was 2500+, one would think the Arrows would shout about it.Working Class Rugger wrote:An idea of what the turnout was like?
Yep; will do. Is the Test next weekend?CanNZ2000 wrote:BTW Canuckles, you need to send me your cell number for next weekend.
Yes. June 9.canuckles wrote:Yep; will do. Is the Test next weekend?CanNZ2000 wrote:BTW Canuckles, you need to send me your cell number for next weekend.
Outstanding. Be seeing you Friday night at the Sherlock Holmes, downtown.CanNZ2000 wrote:Yes. June 9.canuckles wrote:Yep; will do. Is the Test next weekend?CanNZ2000 wrote:BTW Canuckles, you need to send me your cell number for next weekend.
I missed the first five minutes because Rugby Canada forgot where it put on its stream. I had the sound down, so missed the usual BS.OttawaKat wrote:Anything if interest last night? Between Gareth and the song,e camera I lasted 6-8 minutes.
The Ottawa one is the evening before the Canada/Russia test. The word should get around. I thought Twin Elms was close to being condemned? The drive out there is nice and I liked looking at the land. Although, it is a bit far from the Capital.Nieghorn wrote:OttawaKat, do you coach at all?
One of my coach ed heroes is going to be at TERP on Friday the 15th. I wonder how many will actually show given that (I think) he won't have much of a recognisable name amongst the vast majority of coaches, yet he's up there with the best in the biz. I saw a pic of a Rugby Ontario clinic recently from Ottawa and there were only a handful of people there. Not sure what sort of draw Richard Shuttleworth will have, especially as I saw this by accident on twitter (and I follow the guy).

I'd be up for that if I didn't live in the opposite direction. Takes me 45 mins to get home and being a morning person, I get drowsy around 10pm. Not great for driving down the relatively straight and boring 416.OttawaKat wrote:Nieg not involved in coaching. My daughter played her grade 9 year but prefers other sports.
I would be up for a bored meet-up on the Friday after that coaching thing.
NPC (sorry, I always forget what it is called now) for Olmstead? They do not pay all that much, do they? The move has worked for Ardron. The players are finding out the life of pro rugby as a NQP, unless or until you are a DTH or a Cudmore. Until we can pay them something decent out here, the current situation will be their lot. The Wolf Pack could sure use Hassler and Olmstead.CanNZ2000 wrote:Very surprised that he hasn't been able to land a new contract, but that is the market. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere.
BTW, Canuckles, apparently Olmstead is heading to the land of the long white cloud.

Apparently he is doing this with the aim of landing a super rugby contract (both parties interested just want to see how he goes first), so it is not as short termed as it seems.
