Attn All: Conduct.

Gents,

The Lions to NZ is the biggest tour of all and I hope we all enjoy this together.

I can over react on the ban hammer at times but we now try to mod a lot more by agreement than we did a few years back and we have a system to prevent overreaction.

However, during the Lions we'll have loads of new members, lurkers, press, players, the works.

Not wishing to be a killjoy, and not even threatening anyone, but comments like Backrow's description of Itoje is not on and for my money it was close to a week's canning- let's NOT make comments like that.

The last thing I want too is to have to deal with solicitor's letters, like last year- it's painfully time consuming for no reward.

Can we make an effort to take the piss, enjoy the craic, banter as normal but just respect this is a special series, the forum will be packed, the mods will be over-worked (you really have no idea how hard) and you guys all know where the line is.

It is a special moment in rugby, a NZ BIL tour and none of us, even me, want to ban anyone or have shit to deal with.

Don't think this is attention seeking or anything like that but we are also dealing with other things changing in the wider world of Plan Rug (I'll let you know or Tobi will just after the series, but it doesn't affect the forum at all) and the mods (and even I) want to enjoy some good banter without having to keep looking at reports (and only report if it's something you know is bad please).

I am sincere about this and supporting the mods too, who I publically thank once more, so hope it's accepted in spirit offered.

Jakey.

You had me until 'Jakey'.

My ask during this period - as it always is - is that the mods and you don't post as to give greater chance of being impartial.

KG,

Unfair on them, who are volunteers. Personally, I want to post only on tactics and teams, and I'll limit it to that . Chatting it through with some on here often helps inform pieces.

But noted in spirit offered and a degree of dilligence to be applied.

That's a banning.

Who said we had to be impartial anyway? My only self-administered mod rule is I don't ban anyone I am arguing/bantering with at that time.

I love the Lions and there is no way I don't want to talk shite during the tour same as everyone else.

you might want to sort out the trump childishness if you're going to talk about conduct.

Jake - fair enough. I raise it because we've seen before mods and you get caught up in the debate and react reflecting your involvement and views - not taking a broader neutral position. Perhaps if you or a mod is involved in the discussion another mod should consider any wayward behaviour or comments.

I agree with your statement and think its right to see the tone - we've already had dummy spitting over grassy banks so its going to be a long tour.

No problems from me about your approach Jake.

The light hearted banter and rivalry has always been at the heart of this place.

Long may it continue.

Why should they be neutral?

As long as the mods do not violate the forum rules it is a non issue

BC and Argus - why?

Option 1 - Ronseal
Option 2 - because all mods are presbyterian
Option 3 - Gavin H

Usually quite lengthy. I think they have a tariff on word count and sentence construction. Plus a bonus for a paragraph.

Had a cracker recently. The sender must have had alphabet soup for breakfast.

My reply said "No". Not heard back yet. Thankfully I'm not paying for this imbecile.

Can we have temporary bans for going full retard? Bans that last just long enough to cover the tour.

Odd demand. They are voluntary mods asked to do the job from the ranks of posters.

Hang on Kiwi, I reckon you would make an excellent mod for the Lions series.

I honestly think that mods who are from nations currently playing in this Lions series should give up their powers for the duration.

They should be given to impartial posters, such as myself, until the series is over.

It makes sense, doesn't it?
it's a deal!!!
