Calm your panties.
Currently the lead story:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/pu ... f9afd198a6

The cool thing about newspapers and their websites is that they are capable of dealing with more than one story at a time. You should see if you could manage that some time.

Except that "Russia" is not really a story.

The assassination attempt is huge though. An outgrowth of continuing and escalating - and often organised - left-wing post election violence.

That story is huge.

Given your trouble distinguishing between fact and opinion, do you really think you're the one who should be deciding what's a 'story'?

It's hard to imagine that you can be serious. You're just trying to wind me up, and you're doing it unintelligently, granted though to the best of your apparent capacity while russian around. Is a story necessarily equivalent to fact?

Are you denying the violence? Is the connectivity I've described far fetched?

So you're choosing to ignore the fact that the lead story on WaPo is in fact the very shooting you were so anguished wasn't being reported?

You almost have to admire that level of pigheadedness.

It may not be soothing, but it's quite satisfying to imagine each bubble to be the head of a telemarketer as you squeeze it into oblivion.

It's certainly soothing to contemplate that bubble farting left wing pacifists everywhere, albeit secretly, must be united in their angst and disgust at one of their own attempting to mass murder elected officials.

Hows about this.

You stop reading stuff that is obviously outraging you, and you have obviously discounted as having no intellectual merit or worth, and stick to Breitbart, Drudge Report and Zerohedge and all those other sites that reinforce your views. It might stop you complaining like a little girl. Or you could write about it on your wingnut blog.

And yet it was less than an hour after you started the thread, but you have yet to acknowledge that they are doing exactly what you wanted.

You're just doubling down on your unwarranted outrage and continuing to try to establish a false narrative about the shooting being ignored.

I'm not "doubling down" - it's true. So what if they changed their lead? That can do that anytime.

As you smugly said yourself.

Bolllock, how's about you go scrub your bum with a toothbrush and this enjoy the simultaneous benefit of polishing your butthoused intellect. Burying your brain in your butt might allow you to enjoy non stop fantasies about Russians, butt it doesn't mean left wing violence isn't of grave concern, even if the superb Breitbart and my "blog", whatever that is, is the only place you'll be able to read about that.

You're not really interested in having a conversation about any of that, if you're honest. You're only interested in hearing about things that correlate with your views. I'm sure the "superb" Breitbart will provide enough of an echo chamber for you.

Frankly, if Spinbad doesn't think it's relevant that the lead story on the WaPo is the shooting of a GOP congressman on a thread devoted to his anguish about the lead story on the WaPo not being about the shooting of a GOP congressman this thread isn't going to be pretty.

I think you'd be better off writing an angry letter of complaint to the offending publication. Or starting a youtube channel where you can rant to a receptive audience and attempt to influence opinion and public discourse. This seems futile.

Yes it is. No discussion allowed here. You can't even mention the US President's name without getting farted on.

I didn't say it was THE issue, but it's quite obvious it's AN issue.

So is it "left wing violence" we're angry about? Or is it people focusing on the Russia stuff? Or is it people being mean to bubblefart? Or is it celebrities? Or is it that nobody is really taking you seriously?

i presume those blaming leftwing 'violent rhetoric' for the shooting are the same people who were blaming rightwing 'violent rhetoric' for the giffords shooting?

And those who blamed Leave for the Cox shooting joining up with wingnuts like spinbad on this particular blowhard cycle?

no, quelle surprise?

put enough guns within easy reach of enough nutters and this stuff will happen over and over. Itll happen from time to time in a country with a grown up approach to guns because nutters are nutters

keep doing nothing to curtail it and itll still happen

Sadly

I think the easy availability of automatic weapons is an issue. I think the divisive politics, across the bored is an issue. I think angry rhetoric and false promises are an issue. I think mental health care is an issue. Not sure satire and the media are up there tbh - although you seem the sort that might blame music and video games too.

Now, now.

Some celebrity pretended to cut off the President's head. That's a different type of incitement to what Alex Jones and co have been doing these past years.

It's certainly arguable that satire and media coverage aren't a factor in the violence, though it seems strange to separate "angry rhetoric" from those.

I think the violent imagery is a huge influence, but let's not forget that actual violence from the organised left has been a feature on the American political landscape like never before. Think Berkeley, Soros, the organised disruptions at Tepublican events and rallies.

And now republican congressmen getting shot while playing baseball.
