unless you're half and half, why the heck would you have a second team

Well everybody has their own little family/bloodline stories and nobody really cares, but let's bring up Argentina. Who doesn't have them as one of the 'good guys' ? They're too far away for you to develop friction with them, they're the gritty hard kind so big respect in the Rugby world, scrum all that, and they're basically always the underdog because they don't have a major pro league and survive off pure local talent and you wonder how they produce them.
I think all true neutrals support them in the 4N, they're the likable 'little guy' and they've got balls.

Special mention for Australia, too. Who can say (bar NZ) they wouldn't like their team to play their style ?? Velvet combinations, smooth synchronized team running Rugby, exciting mobile/skilled forwards, sexy Openside superstars...

I can't believe that you can support another rugby team.
There is only one - your own.

I wouldn't say I support the other teas I mentioned, I just wish them well.

Always liked them and their fans but after living in Cardiff for a couple of years I like them even more.
Also have a soft spot for the Lions and Springboks because of the history between them and the All Blacks.I always support the Lions whenever they aren't playing the ABs.
I've never disliked any team.Particular players maybe, but not the entire team.

Wales. A bit of ancestry, small country, likes rugby and sheep, awesome accent, If you're out of touch you can bluff your way by mentioning Davies, Jones or Evans and they were the bomb in Jonah Lomu rugby.

Why not. There is a multitude of reasons why you might have a 2nd team.

I can say I always dislike the English rugby team, but there are always players within that team I like. Johnson, Hill, Greenwood, Ashton..

France would be my choice. I like surprises and you never know which French team will show up.Either brilliant, sh*te or inbetween..

This type of thread comes up rather frequently – some distant French ancestry and French relatives, plus I like the people, so France would be my second team. Don’t exactly dislike any team though obviously nobody likes to see England win and Kiwi fans are the worst.

Wales. I've just always liked them. I enjoy ripping the piss, but after England they are the team for me. Great fans, quality underdogs, have had some amazing players. Ickle Shane is one of my favourite rugby players of all time. G'wan boys

Fiji, Tonga, Samoa. Always going to support the Island teams, way to much connection between between here and them to not. Also they're the eternal underdog againest most.

Lions. Love that team - the history, the inevitable drama and conflict created by mashing the various nationalities and personalities together, and the odds stacked against them far more often than not. And despite the massive massive commercial enterprise it's become.

Super.

But you can change your choice now. They don't do that anymore. They're stuck in the paradigm apparently, and have elected to be in the sh*te level. It's too bad they didn't pick the other extreme, but, hey ! I dunno. Do you know ?

"Either brilliant, sh*te or inbetween.." - in this day n age, go for...the Wallabies ?

France are my favourite NH team but that statement is ridiculous, if they were better they would have two world cups.

TBF, they would have won in 2011 if it wasn’t for a homer ref.

 The homer ref gave them a number of opportunities to win in the closing stages and then overlooked red carding one of their players for thuggishness.

You're forgetting contesting the 95 final because of a, wait for it... homer ref? You're such a twat.

Well I guess it has to be Singapore because we live here and this being a small place both my son and myself have some good mateships with current and ex players, coaches and administrators.

Shame is that the stucture of the Intl season here makes it pretty hard to actively follow them for more than a few matches each year.

Has varied over the years. Sort of missed the Welsh golden era; so France as I was growing up. There was a time when I loved Kiwi & Scots forward play, based so heavily around rucking; but French & Aussie back play was cracking to watch. The best side at blending forwards & backs for me was France (so sad) and for the past 20 years, NZ.

But if I had to pick; then the only other international side I reckon I can truthfully say I ever gave more than a passing shit for, was Belgium, because a great old pal played for them.

Scotland is the only Northern Hemisphere side that I would support over a SH side (apart from the AB's of course).

Loved them in the 80's and early 90's.

Scotland - Usually start as underdogs but always give it a real crack. Phenomenal what they've achieved with the player numbers they have.
