Just finished adding a skull and gargoyle. Very chuffed with the gargoyle. Can't really see the skull. When I have my wrap off and the scabs are healed I will share a pic. It's going to be difficult to get the whole effect though as I have a finished product in my mind and you won't see it till it's done . Probably in a years time if I go every 3 months.

I am trying a youngster. He has busy adding a Pegasus and mermaid to my wifes phoenix.

Whatever that may be.

The same sort of mishmash of very averagely done tattoos that many of my older friends and acquaintances from West Auckland have. Only a lot of theirs were done for free. In prison.

I'm not joking.

You would have been better off going for flash-art off the wall, as at least it would likely have been a reasonable image to start with. Never get a face or realistic animal portrait done by a tattooist who is a less than excellent artist.

I am more than happy with it. I have the work of 2 studios there and the moon and castle will be done by another. It's my design and pictures I chose and I have a picture in my mind where it will all end. Just a case of filling in the characters and then the gaps.
I don't want water color or flesh art . I want mythical monsters and fantasy castles.

False bitch .... completely ... you should know by now.

My arm is going to take a lot of work before the final picture is done....

AND THE VISION REALISED...

On friday I sit for my next addition.

Image

My first real colour tat which when positioned between the gargoyle and wolf head is going to pop.... Best of all I have kept a spot on my arm which I can see easily .

When I finally find a Medusa that I like ...has to be colour and a stunning body with lots of colour... I am going to start filling in the gaps with tombstones , castle turrets and the like. I kept my gargoyle without shading and colour because its going to get busy around it and it will pop once all the shading and colour is added. I just asked that the pentagon gets removed...only having the dragon and the moon, which will be double the size and on the other wing and go behind the gargoyle linking the dragon and the gargoyle.

We decided that instead of wasting money on meals when we have awesome facilities at home we are getting tats for Valentines day.....its so romantic I could cry....

Last night's Ink Master challenge was a stupid one and most of the ideas the recipients had were stupid (mash up two or more completely different tattoo styles). This one won, and was rare in not being too bad of an idea.

What's with the wings, are they the zero g version? One of them doesn't match the orientation of the rest.

edit...I take that back. None of them match the orientation of any of the others.

Don't just copy this, though. Someone else already has it.

Look at artists like Frank Frazetta for further inspiration... he's known for his scantily-clad or naked warrior / mythological women. It wouldn't be difficult for a good artist to take something like this and put snakes in her hair (look for one with a pose that you want).

That crooked dagger just kills me.

I like your concept Sards and I agree once your sleeve is full it will look much better. That said. The dagger is the centrepiece and BEFORE you add to it you NEED a VERY GOOD artist to fix it.

I don't have any ink but a family member is a tattooist. You can see some of his work on haze_kopa_art on Instagram.

Its perfectly straight...any movement like a twist of the arm or movement of the hand distorts the blade....Its a tough one.
Thanks on the cofidence..I have a finished product in mind and its going to take a while to complete it but I reckon its going to be awesome. I am giving in a bit with the dragon as its more a mythical creature than a mythical monster but that was pressure from the wife to add something on my arm that she will have on her arm, She is doing mythical creatures. And to also add something with lots of colour.

At the back of my upper arm I am torn between this character from 13 Ghosts

Or Frankenstein

The sleeve flows nicely, but I think it'd be better with colour. Why a black and grey rose? If you love black and grey, fine, but you can still mix in the odd bit of colour to make it pop.

Image

(My friend - a woman - has a sleeve that is mostly black and grey but with flowers that are 'muted' somewhat so they don't stand out too much. The artist totally nailed it.)

Sards, I don't think even a master artist could nail that upper character with all those bits and bobs. Way too much going on (unless it was back-sized) and it'd end up being a mess.

The trouble is with neck tattoos (leaving aside they are frightfully common) is they make your head appear as though it is stuck on a block or separate from your body

They are ruddy awful.

One of my staff got a massive picture of an English rose on her back.

She regrets it bitterly. She dresses accordingly to hide it. I took her and other staff to a do to celebrate a successful project (at which she was top notch).

She just could not join us in the hotel swimming pool.

I love her to bits. Her husband is the bee's knees. But as she ages, it really does look terribly tawdry, and she knows it.
