Blackhawks beaten in OT.
Mockers gods laughing.
I watched it too, but came away thinking how woeful DET were (rather than how decent the Canucks were). And I think the players outnumbered the crowd. Abysmal turn out - I know it's only the Nucks, but really??canuckles wrote:Caught the Canucks game against the Red Wings last night and, hey, now, Vancouver looked like a decent skating, forechecking team. Virtanen also played very well. The key for them and him is to play at that level 40-50 more times this season.

No. But ride the wave while they can. It's a long season unfortunately for them. As of right now there is nobody who isn't pleased for them given the latest events in the city.LandOTurk wrote:Are these Golden Knights the real deal?
I thought last night's game was excellent. The Flames have waited on Jankowski; he is starting to come through. His line with Bennett and JJ last night was outstanding.hornets wrote:This thread like the Oiler's offence is dead.
Flames lay a beating on Conference leaders last night.
Scored more goals in 1 game than the Oiler's in there last 4 or maybe 5, at this point who can keep track.
Johnny Hockey sitting in 4th for scoring, boy is ripping it up.

A month later and that wagon is still rolling along.LandOTurk wrote:Are these Golden Knights the real deal?

Only 4 over 7 years? Come on, we know they need more help then that.hornets wrote:CanNZ2000 wrote:So, what are the odds of the Oilers winning the draft again? It is amazing how much the franchise screws up with all the breaks it gets from the NHL.
There isn't a worse organization in the league.
4 numbers on O/A in 7 years and they are still horrible.
Check out some of the trades and FA signings Holland has done the last five/six years and run. GMs, coaches, scouts are like players, they will eventually lose their touch. Perhaps the Canucks should give Benning a bit more time. It looks like Vancouver missed on their 2014 and 2016 top picks. But they hit on Brock and the Swede looks promising.CanNZ2000 wrote:Rumour making the rounds that the Canucks will try to sign Ken Holland in the off season. Seems to be some truth to the rumour as they tried to get him before but hired Benning instead as he turned them down. My gut feeling is that Benning is out (not entirely his fault as the canucks have a very meddlesome ownership group) but no guarantee that Holland will be in. Trade Deadline will be very telling for the Canucks, only minor moves and he is clearly out.
I would say they only missed out on the 2014 pick. Joulevi will be fine, yes Thachuk would have been better. I am of the mind that they should keep Benning if it is a choice of those two.canuckles wrote:Check out some of the trades and FA signings Holland has done the last five/six years and run. In case you were being semi serious, he has done a better job in the past few years when ownership step away a bit. Clearly the Loui Erikson signing was forced by ownership. In fairness to them, they have always been willing to spend to the max, so they are rightfully pissed at the lack of return in their investments.hornets wrote:CanNZ2000 wrote:I would say they only missed out on the 2014 pick. Benning is doing a fine job, I support all his moves.
Also, haha stupid Edmonton
