SA have done it at every ruck, including twice in the lead up to their try - not penalised once.
Yep, it's ridiculous. England need to start going off feet if they are going to compete at the breakdown.

Just happened again, off feet on a player who wasn't even in the ruck. Ref needs to get a grip.

Terrible call from the assistant as well - that ball was never taken into touch - put us under huge pressure.

It clearly was, the live angle was very obvious.

We're struggling with their mauls - giving up way too much ground.

First time he's spotted an illegal clear out!

Thought he'd never get there.

Second appalling lineout from England, just throwing it straight to the Saffa at the back of the line.

SA have a 100% lineout and an amazing maul. England are about 50%.

That could be where the game is won and lost.

Willis lucky there. Looked in from the side and a change of bind. Got to deal with this maul

Ohgre's throwing is almost totally spot on. He is exactly 6 inches over his own jumper and straight into the Saffa's arms with almost terrifying precision.

Get that kid off and bring on... anyone else.

Anyone at all.

SA are being given an age to set the ball at the maul. Got to get in an sack that at source.

7-14 down at HT - could have been worse. Need to sort out the line out and defend the maul better.

Lineout is better. Now at least the hooker hits his target before we turn it over to them.

But Jesus - those Saffa clear-outs. They are flying in knee-high and off their feet like they are going into tackles, rather than joining rucks.

The thing is, the ref is actually doing SA a disservice by not penalising them, because when they play at the U20RWC against full strength English/Kiwi sides with stricter referees, they don't change.

I saw the game last night- the young Boks have some very good talent coming through. The 12 looks he is ready for the full Bok team and Sazi- the prop looks a real find.

Joe Heyes (Leicester Tigers)
Ted Hill (Worcester Warriors)

Sam Lewis (Leicester Tigers)
Gabriel Oghre (Wasps)
Ehren Painter (Northampton Saints)
James Scott (Worcester Warriors)
Alex Seville (Gloucester Rugby)
Toby Trinder (Northampton Saints)
Henry Walker (Gloucester Rugby)
Tom Willis (Wasps)

Backs

Rory Brand (London Irish)
Will Butler (Worcester Warriors)
Ali Crossdale (Saracens)
Fraser Dingwall (Northampton Saints)
James Grayson (Northampton Saints)
Tom Hardwick (Leicester Tigers)
Gabriel Ibitoye (Harlequins)
Ben Loader (London Irish)
Jordan Olowofela (Leicester Tigers)
Tom Parton (London Irish)
Marcus Smith (Harlequins)
Ben White (Leicester Tigers)

Unavailable through injury:

Dino Lamb (Harlequins)
Sam Moore (Sale Sharks)
Marcus Street (Exeter Chiefs)

Unavailable as named in senior squad:

Tom Curry (Sale Sharks)
Ben Earl (Saracens)
Nick Isiekwe (Saracens)
Cameron Redpath (Sale Sharks)

Inclusion of Marcus Smith probbaly the headline there. Shame Earl is away with the seniors as he's looked good at this level and can't see him getting capped in SA. Same with Redpath

We've got a lot of backrow depth, so missing Earl and T Curry, whilst obviously weakens us, it's not a huge amount. Missing Isiekwe is a bigger deal.

I don't see it as players missing when they have been promoted. Plus it's an opportunity to develop more players which is what this is supposed to be about.

I agree that it's for development and that's a good thing, but I still think it's fair to say they're missing from our strongest possible u20s side.

Careful with the Jeff bait.

As a fan, I'd prefer players go to the JWC if eligible, but understand the development angle. Isekwe and Curry have a shot of getting on the pitch in SA, so fine with them not being there. Earl and Redpath are further away though for me and would be better served getting some high pressure tournament game time in France than holding tackle bags in SA.

The important thing with Redpath is to see how he feels about getting tied to England for 5 minutes off the bench in SA
